While at the self service checkout this young white associate comes up and without saying a word opens the lid to see if anything is being taken out without being paid for. I was so shocked I went outside and sat down for a while then went right back in and asked for a manager and reported the incident. I am so shocked by this racial profiling that it sickens me. I’m a 66 yr old black man who will pay the balance on my account of $85 and permanently close my account, never to frequent Lowes again.

Asked a young man to clarify and as he was looking into the issue, when another worker, Elizabeth, walked up asking “what’s going on?” We explained and she said the prices were correct. We knew they weren’t and said so. Her attitude changed. She ignored us, talked to the young man rather abruptly and proceeded to scan the prices. The next few minutes had her peeling off the tags, they could have been easily switched, and ordered the young man to reprint. They both walked away without saying a word to us, “sorry about that,” “thanks for catching that,” or any number of acknowledgements. I’m not looking for recognition, I’m looking for courtesy. She did not have any for me or the other employee. Work on it, Elizabeth. You need to put a smile on your face instead of a scowl.
