Hired them because they offered the lowest rate, which was pretty low compared to others and Brandon showed up quickly when I was looking for quotes. He was also polite. But they/he is very unreliable and unprofessional. They only did our lawn two months for a total of 4 times (we had a biweekly arrangement, and there was still 3 more months to go), and I had to end their services.
They never came when they were supposed to (the time slots that *he* provided). Fine, I understood that the calendar appointments were just a formality and I just went with it. Not the end of the world. But once or twice they didn't come the day-of. After the time slot passed or the day passed and they still didn't come, I'd wonder what happened and would have to text him and ask, and then he would say that he'll get me the next day. Even though I didn't love it, it was fine and I'd let it pass. I'd still communicate with him in a warm and friendly way. Except for 2 or 3 times, he always did text me back and most of the time was very friendly in texts, so that's to his credit. The first two mows weren't the greatest, though I didn't say anything about it, but the last two mows were good.
Administratively (which I think Brandon handles himself), the operation is a mess. In the beginning, he said he'd put me in the system and I never got any of the things he said and then I realized he never asked for my email, so there's no way he could have put me in the system. Any time there was an issue (and there seemed to be a lot), I'd have to reach out multiple times. In the beginning I'd get the same invoice over and over multiple times, but only got receipt for one of the payments, and had to figure that out with him. All of that was a headache that I didn't appreciate, but as long as the mowing was getting done, fine. And again, he was almost always responsive and was friendly and polite. Then, in the end, I didn't get any receipt at all, and every time I'd ask about that, he'd give some excuse and said he'd have it to me that evening but never did. I repeatedly would ask him multiple times, and the same response, but I'd never get it. Till the end, he never provided that receipt.
The last straw was when they didn't show this week. Monday, the day of the scheduled mow, was labor day. The next day, Tuesday, they didn't show well past the time they were supposed to, and when I texted Brandon, he said they'd come that day or if not, then definitely the next day. So Tuesday passed, no mow. Waited all day Wednesday, no one showed up. Even waited until mid-afternoon Thursday and texted Brandon, and he said he'd show up the next morning. Didn't even suggest that (Thursday) afternoon/evening, and I asked about it, but he stuck to Friday and said "I will be out tomorrow morning though 100%." Also, at this point I'd been asking over and over about not getting that last receipt as well, and he'd keep promising he was going to send it immediately but never did. Anyway, Friday a.m. around 10:40, still no one had showed up. I text Brandon, and he says he's still coming that morning, that he'd just had an appointment with his kids. I say fine. Wait till 2:30, he still never shows up. At that point, I realized his word means nothing. Also, I'd had enough. Had to cut them loose. Texted him politely ending the services. Never heard back.
So long story short, in the short time that we used their services, there were a lot of headaches and I'd have to constantly monitor and reach out whether about the actual mowing or administrative things. The trouble was definitely not worth it. In the end, if the problem was just administrative, I would have probably just put up with it and kept them. But when the mowing is the issue, and he makes promises he boldly doesn't keep (administratively too), then it had to end. Unreliable and unprofessional.
