She had to load and unload all the lumber herself, and not a single employee offered to help — even though the store wasn’t busy at all. The first person she spoke with at the customer service desk, a younger gentleman with a cross earring, told her she needed to take everything back to the lumber department where they would count it and call him to process the return. Fair enough — but when she pushed a cart full of 80 pieces back there, the lumber staff told her to take it back to customer service instead. She did exactly that, only for customer service to insist she needed to return to lumber. She made multiple trips back and forth between departments with a full cart of wood because no one could be bothered to communicate or assist her. The entire time, the employees were dismissive and acted like helping her was a burden. My wife is more than capable of handling herself, but the lack of basic courtesy and teamwork from multiple employees was disappointing and unprofessional. It’s not about the return process — it’s about how your staff treats customers.
