I prefer Baytown Lowe's over the home Depot across the street. The home Depot's check out has been absolutely ridiculous of late. Plus Lowe's just seems cleaner.

Website and store database says store has "southern yellow pine" 2x6s. This is a lie, it is Doug Fir. Apparently they assign two different products the same product number which causes the customers and the employees and the website to believe something is in stock that isn't actually in stock. How a retail company can make this type of basic mistake is beyond my understanding. Then, when you call customer service at the store prior to driving to the store, because the last Lowes you were at made this mistake, in order to confirm they actually DO HAVE southern yellow pine, the customer service rep will get impatient with you, like you're the moron, for asking them to make sure the store actually has it. "Yes, it's at the store!" They will say to you in an impatient tone. Then when you show up to the store, Lo! and Behold! It is in fact NOT at the store.

DO NOT HIRE LOWE'S FOR HARDWOOD FLOORS AND INSTALLATION. If I could give zero stars, I would. November 2024 started our flooring journey; we asked for entry, kitchen, livingroom, den, hallways, closets, stairs, and landings all be done in red oak hardwood floors to match the handrails that were not getting touched. Incorrect measurements were taken multiple times, many times there were scheduling issues with their team, and even worse, the incorrect floors were ordered and installed. Beveled red floors were installed, there were holes on ALL my walls from their installation tool, there were cracks in some boards, splinters on other boards, leveler was not used so the entire house is uneven, there were glue spots coming up between the boards, and really just the worst nightmare with bubble edged floors! For months, tried getting the boards removed because of the horrible install, but Lowe's wouldn't budge. Contacted lawyers but nobody would take the case because "Lowe's is too big a company". Had to hire an entirely different flooring company to repair the damages that Lowe's did. Had to sand the floors, fill all the holes and cracks, level out some really bad unevenness, and re-stain the floors to match handrails as originally requested. On top of the extra cost to repair the damages, Lowe's refused to pick up the extra boxes of beveled red oak floors (you guessed it, they measured incorrectly) so I now have a stack of flooring taking up space in my garage. More than double the cost, and almost a year later.. Lowe's has been our worst enemy of 2025 and will probably hold that title for a lifetime.
