- TPTarl PalmerFeb 13, 20261.0My original rate for my unit went from $88 to $166 in about 3 months, nearly doubling it. When I went to ask why the massive increase in cost they called my original rate a “promotional rate” but of course that was nowhere in my account letting me know that or informing me of the future price increase. I got a comically small letter from ExtraSpace letting me know that due to “economic conditions” they had to increase my rate. But seriously, nearly double? The unit itself was clean and well taken care of, but the lack of transparency and bait and switch tactics make this a hard pass for me. Do not use ExtraSpace storage, it’s clear their tactics are: offer a competitive price -> wait a few months after renting out a unit -> jack up the price by a crazy amount when it is harder for someone to move out because they likely recently moved into the area and need storage space. Vile tactics, I hope this greedy company faces legal justice.
