I paid my storage balance yesterday, June 18, after being late, but my unit is still locked and I cannot access my belongings. Another manager at a different location told me there was nothing he could do because the manager at my store left early, and that I would have to wait until today, Friday, June 19.
Now today, no one is answering, and my storage still has not been unlocked. My issue is this: Extra Space Storage is quick to lock customers’ units, but when it comes time to unlock them after payment, there is no urgency, no communication, and no one available to help.
If the company knows certain locations are short-staffed, there needs to be a better system in place. It does not make sense for customers to pay and still be unable to access their own belongings because no one is available to remove the lock. I needed items out of my storage, and this has caused a major inconvenience.
This is very frustrating and unprofessional. Extra Space Storage needs to do better with staffing, communication, and customer access after payment is made.

From day one we were extremely impressed with this storage facility and the associates. Each time we had a question they were available to answer. Signing up and checking out was extremely seamless. The facility is kept clean and we always felt like our daughter’s belongings were safe. I would highly recommend this storage facility!
