We rented a unit in May for summer storage. The process of renting a unit online was smooth and the staff friendly.
We had no issues all summer long. Mid-July I let the corporate business know we would be vacating the unit August 2nd (today). A few days ago I called the site directly to confirm an August 2nd vacate date. Both times the date was confirmed.
Today, my husband and daughter show up only to discover they were locked out and the account closed on July 31st. Note: We live out of state and they traveled over four hours to reach this unit. I was working when my daughter noified me of the issue. I was trying to drive, manage my work and deal with my daughter at the same time. They finally got a phone number, called and was told that someone would call them back tomorrow.
I quit work early, and called myself. Yes, I had to become a Mama Bear, but once I clearly made the point that 4.5 hours of travel to find a locked out unit was unacceptable, customer service reached out to the site manager and had her come in to give access to my family.
(Oh, and the first time I called, C.S. hung up on me and I had to call again.)
The manager drove a half hour on her day off to accomodate my family. To her I give my deepest gratitude. I don't know who screwed up the paperwork (mixing up my husband with the next renter who has the same name), but the site manager put forth the effort to right the wrong.
For her 5 out 5. For the panic and inconvience of having to make phone calls and bare my teeth, 1 out of 5. Overall I give a 4 out of 5 stars. We will consider renting from them again... IF ...
