I received service proposals from several companies and chose Pacific Lawn and Pest. The person answering the phone has always been friendly and responsive. Michael met me at the property, listened to my needs and gave suggestions. There was no pressure. Several other companies did not have the option for an in-person evaluation, making it difficult to explain what was needed. Their technicians have done a great job, including a mid-summer pruning on a sloped rocky area. When we noticed powdery mildew on several shrubs, Josh, the owner, came out personally to evaluate the situation and provide some recommendations for treatment. Their service notifications have been great, and they show up when they say they will - a quality that seems surprisingly rare these days. The pricing is competitive, and just as important, the customer service has been excellent. I highly recommend them.
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Pacific Lawn and Pest today.
Yesterday, I called several companies to get quotes for repairing a leaking pressure vacuum breaker. When I spoke with Chelsey, she was very kind and professional. I explained that I work graveyard shifts and needed an early morning appointment because I would be staying awake after work. She assured me they could schedule me as the first appointment of the day between 8:00–9:00 AM. I also specifically asked whether the technician would have the supplies needed to repair the pressure vacuum breaker on the spot, and she stated she would make a note for the service technician.
At 8:06 AM, I received an automated call stating that the technician was on the way. After hearing nothing further, I called the office at 9:20 AM. Chelsey said she would contact the technician, Austin, and call me back.
After still not hearing anything, I called again at 10:03 AM. At that point, Chelsey informed me she still had not heard from Austin, that I was supposedly his first and only appointment of the day, and she did not know why he was not responding or showing up. She stated she would contact her manager, Jose, and get back to me.
At 10:29 AM, after still receiving no communication, I called again and expressed my frustration with the lack of professionalism and poor customer service. I explained that if a company schedules an appointment window, they should communicate if they are running late or unable to make it. I also asked if the service fee could be waived due to the inconvenience, and I was told they would have to ask management.
I finally received a call from Austin at 10:30 AM saying he was on the way. He arrived at 10:40 AM, and my security cameras show him knocking on my door at 10:43 AM. I showed him the leaking valve, he confirmed it was leaking and needed repair, and then he left my residence at 10:46 AM. No repair was completed, and no resolution was provided.he was rude and unprofessional.
I called back at 10:48 AM and left a voicemail for the manager. I still have not received a response.
Overall, I am appalled by the lack of communication, professionalism, and respect for customers’ time. Chelsey was the only positive part of this experience. Unfortunately, the service model presented by Pacific Lawn and Pest today was unacceptable, especially for someone who rearranged their sleep schedule and stayed awake after a graveyard shift specifically for this appointment.
