  We had an excellent shopping experience at the Western Avenue store from Nick and store manager Bill.  They helped explain the discounting available on the dining table we wanted, helped us with the credit card signup and ensured we got the right price with both discounts.  They held the table for us and when we returned with a larger vehicle went above and beyond helping us load the packages from their loading bay, including having the idea to get the table top out of the packaging so it would then fit in back of our SUV.  Thank you so much!

  I used to like this World Market spot because the products offered were nice and it was a great place to get unique gifts and whatnot. I made a decision yesterday not to go back after a couple of my own bad experiences and a bad experience my boyfriend had. The way the staff treat you there does not make the product worth buying anymore. I'll start shopping online again I guess. Anyway, here's the reason: A long time ago, the World Market staff tried to stop my boyfriend from leaving the store because they assumed that he was stealing something. He was not. I'm sure they profiled him because he was wearing sweatpants or something. Then another time I went there to pick up an online order, and when one of the staff members brought me my bag, she lost the paper that was supposed to be stapled to the bag in the back room and didn't realize it. When it was time for her to hand me the bag and do whatever she needed to do with the paper, she proceeded to ask me several times if I did something with the missing paper when she wasn't looking, was speaking to me rudely and looking at me rudely, and kept insisting I MUST HAVE done something with it. FINALLY, she went back to check the original location of the bag and found the paper she was looking for. At no point did she apologize for how she treated me once she realized I had nothing to do with the missing paper. I find it incredibly rude to accuse someone of being suspicious and then not acknowledge your mistake once you realize you were wrong. The last straw was when I went there again recently and got the same cashier who was again giving me attitude for literally no reason at all. Both times I have had this cashier I have been incredibly nice. It's like she's upset that I am there at all. I try to be as kind and easy-going as I can when I'm a customer because I have worked in customer service and the food industry before and I know it's a hard job. But I have never treated someone with an attitude just for being a customer, even on my bad days. Anyway, I bought one tiny thing of perfume and was stopped at the door by another security person to show my receipt because I suppose this is some new policy now. If you buy anything, you have to show a receipt now even if the security dude at the door literally just watched you check out and purchase your item. The staff at this place treat customers (or perhaps only *certain* customers) as if they are entering some sort of small high-end boutique that only a few people can afford while everyone else entering is probably a criminal or something. Well, this place is not a small high-end boutique. It's World Market, a chain with several locations across the U.S. for crying out loud. Please adjust how you treat customers accordingly. Thanks.

  Caroline (the nice senior lady) is just the friendliest most knowledgeable person in the store. She’s been there for years and knows more than anyone else about where everything is and more. I love going to world market, but just like most places customer service has declined. Caroline is what I wish everyone was. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. It’s sooo hard to find anyone that has even one of those qualities in any store or restaurant these days. And I love world market. Caroline brings it to another level just by her being there.
