I wasn’t sure about writing this, but I’ve been here a few times and the Filipino seamstress (I can’t remember her name) has always been kind and done great work. Recently, I came in to hem a dress and worked with a different Korean seamstress. I told her I’d be wearing platforms and flats, which I had on, but she said she couldn’t proceed and insisted I “go downstairs and buy new shoes (heels)” before she could pin the dress. I declined, and she gave me a hard time, saying she “can’t do it,” then went back and forth before reluctantly proceeding after I was clearly uncomfortable.
While pinning, she repeatedly said I would “complain and come back and spend more money,” even though I clearly told her I wasn’t picky and just needed the dress not to drag on the floor. Throughout the appointment, she made a mix of kind but also mean remarks, which made me uncomfortable.
I had no intention of writing this until at checkout, before I even finished paying, she mockingly said “OK BYE BYE BYE,” shooed me away, and loudly repeated that I would complain and have to pay extra over and over again. I told her I never planned to complain, and she walked away laughing. The cashier even seemed startled.
The dress itself was done beautifully this is not about the quality of work like she anticipated, but her attitude. This was the worst experience I’ve had at Nordstrom, and I won’t be returning.

Had an appointment and they sent me to a room where they went on to forget about me for 30 minutes. Which was my entire appointment time. One of the worst customer service experiences I have had.

Elena is THE BEST alterations person you will ever have! I bought a gown from the bridal suite that wasn’t exactly what I wanted, and Elena made so many beautiful alterations that it looked like an entirely different gown. We had so many fittings and I asked so many things of her, and she was always incredibly nice and patient and her work was just PERFECT! Walking down the aisle would have been a completely different experience without her. It doesn’t matter what you need altered, she can do it and you will be so happy with the results.
I had 5 items altered here - 3 pants, a jean, and a legging with side zipper. All were quite expensive, designer pieces (from Ann D, Junya, Yohji, and Toteme) and all did not turn out well (like, not wearable anymore). Some pretty basic stuff, like understanding how to re-attach a zipper to stretch fabric, was missing from their tailors skillsets', so I ended up getting ripples and curves around my zippered seam from the tailor pulling and stretching the fabric /a lot/ as they attached the zipper. There were butchered cuffs too, and waists that were much looser than agreed on because the person safety pinning me at my appointment didn't want to re-do the pin, and "made a note" to use some markings they made instead, which the tailor didn't see/adhere to.
