There's someone in a sleeping bag out front. Wanted to grab a new tire but didn't want to wake the guy......usually a good experience though

Ron fixed our child’s flat tire quickly and helped explain what had happened. He was professional and a good guy to talk to!

Needed a set of presta valves for my wheels and wanted to support a local bike shop so I went here. I asked the guy behind the counter for presta valves and he had no idea what I was asking for. Thought I was asking for a presta tube for a minute, even after saying it was for a tubeless setup. After realizing what I was after he found the valves (which were 20% more than msrp but again, not a dealbreaker if it’s going to a local business) and rang me up, quoting approximately $40. For a $22 purchase. I’m not the best mental mathematician but even I knew immediately that wasn’t right. After questioning it, him running it again and confirming the amount, and me reminding him WA state tax is only about 10%, he agreed that something was off and reran the transaction when it came out correct. Weirdest experience I’ve ever had buying something in a store. I hate to say it but I should have just gone to REI.

I’m not sure if the guy is just socially awkward but he has zero customer service skills. I have been coming here for years and after how I was treated this last month, I’m so done with them. About a month ago I went in to get multiple keys copied. I knew it was going to take some time to do so I told the guy that he could help the customer that came in right behind me. The employee didn’t even acknowledge the customer until he was done with me. While I was outside about to get on my bike the other customer came out and was already done. There was no need for him to wait that long to do something that quick. After the keys were tested the expensive set was not working. I took the keys back and told him and he didn’t know why they wouldn’t work and took them to his boss. In like two seconds the boss knew the copies were not the correct key. He apologized and said they would order the correct one and should have them in a few days. WEEKS go by and I went in yesterday and asked if they had come in yet. The employee said that they hadn’t ordered them yet because they wanted to get a big enough order to save money. I was tired of waiting so I asked for my money back. He turned about and looked up and turned back to me and with a tone said they can’t do anything after 15 days. I’ve been coming in for years and never have noticed those signs that are almost on the ceiling. The fact he wasn’t willing to work with me due to HIS MISTAKE pissed me off. I was needing other keys copied but I was done with his poor attitude so I went into east brem and went to a lock smith just outside Fred Meyer, they were amazing and as you can see from my pic, they take pride in their work and aren’t amateurs.
Response to owners response.
Thanks for acknowledging his poor customer service……..
If his higher up could tell the key he cut was not the correct one by glancing at it, he clearly has not learned much by working here for years.
My co worker just tried the keys I got yesterday and they don’t work.
