    The lady working there was so rude. I walked in and said hello and she grunted at me? Then a man walked in and she fell over herself smiling and saying hello. I collect rugs and love buying them from different places and really wanted to buy something and the only time she ever spoke to me was when the male customer pointed at me and said “I think she needs your help.” The woman then looked pissed off at having to serve me and simply pointed at piles of carpets. She wouldn’t even speak. What is her problem? The carpets are all wool and machine made. Get over yourself. Don’t be so rude to customers. I’ve purchased hand made 100% silk from around Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan and Turkey. I know rugs. And I know service. And she gave neither. So I walked out. Needless to say she ignored me. I hope Shirvan could provide what I was after but I will never know as I won’t ever return. Shame as I was so excited when I saw the shop sign.

    I have bought a few contemporary and antique rugs from Adem and Birgul Solak of Shirvan over the past 13 years. Their personal attention and integrity keeps me coming back. Plus, Adem comes from a long line of rug merchants and really knows his stuff! BTW, for some reason I had someone else on Bainbridge clean my rugs this summer. Big mistake. I had to have Shirvan clean them ALL again. They are the only people I will let touch my rugs in the future.
