I let my wife handle everything with Anchor Pools because we thought it would be a simple, trustworthy process, but it has been the opposite. We paid around $11,000 for our saltwater system, liner, and “upgrades,” including a $700 WiFi/app screen that has never actually worked, even after multiple trips out and us installing an outdoor router like they suggested.
Our liner has already had to be fixed three times and still isn’t right, and we have hardware on the wall that fell off and just free‑spins so it can’t be secured. We’ve tried calling and giving them chances to make it right, and even a close friend with years of pool experience told us we were overcharged and not getting what we paid for. As new pool owners, it really feels like our inexperience was taken advantage of, and I’d be very hesitant to recommend Anchor Pools to anyone.
We spent over $11,000 with Anchor Pools for a new pool liner and upgraded salt water system, and within less than two months we’ve already had nonstop issues.
The liner has already needed THREE repairs, there is hardware falling out, and it still looks terrible even after they “fixed” it. The workmanship honestly looks rushed and sloppy for the amount of money we paid.
We also paid extra for an upgraded salt water system that has never worked properly. They’ve had to come back out THREE more times for the equipment alone, and we’re still having problems.
On top of that, one of the pipes was not properly capped off during installation, causing a leak while filling the pool and wasting gallons and gallons of water and again, no compensation or accountability for their mistake. We have not even been able to get in touch with the manager due to his “out in the field busy schedule”.
To make things worse, we later found out the equipment was marked up by over $3,000 compared to what it costs elsewhere. Despite all the issues, they offered no compensation or discount besides the standard military discount that was already applied from the beginning.
This is our first time owning a pool, and honestly it feels like we were completely taken advantage of. We trusted this company and spent a huge amount of money expecting quality work and professional service, and instead we’ve dealt with issue after issue from the beginning.
Extremely disappointing experience, poor quality work, and terrible customer service. I would not recommend Anchor Pools to anyone.
They were quick to help me with the part I needed and it was not too awfully expensive.
Not sure what changed, but the service department has really gone downhill.
We’ve used them exclusively for pool openings and closings in the past. Our first year was excellent—great communication, clear explanations of what was done, and solid follow-up. The water quality was spot-on.
The following year, however, things slipped. During their balancing visit, they forgot to add salt to our pool, which led to a significant algae bloom that took weeks to resolve. It wasn't an issue of runoff either, the salt was literally at 400 ppm.
After that, we started opening the pool ourselves and used another company for a while, but decided to give them another shot this year based on that strong first experience.
Unfortunately, this time was even worse. There was zero communication from the service team. They showed up twice without any notice or explanation of what was done. Because we were left in the dark, I started balancing the water myself the night before one of their visits, which likely affected their readings—but that only happened because no one kept us informed.
After their final clean and balance visit, the pool still had a lot of debris, and the water chemistry was off based on my own testing (I use a Taylor kit regularly). When I checked the chlorine, it was at 0. I later realized they had turned off our salt water generator without telling us. Granted I should have checked this earlier, but we are paying them to open our pool hassle free.
To top it off, the bill came out to around $900—roughly double what we’ve paid in the past.
Really disappointing experience overall. I can’t recommend them anymore.
After four installation visits our costly new pool equipment still wasn’t working properly. During one visit the technician tripped a breaker damaging the circuit board in the pool controller. We were told we’d need to pay for the new one, no warranty coverage or adjustment was offered.
The controller App functionality kept disappearing. No on/off, no schedule. Our salt chlorinator level dropped to under 800 ppm (normal is ~3000 ppm) yet we were told everything is “fine.” It wasn’t.
When we raised this, communication stopped. Anchor walked away from our job leaving it unfinished. Calls, emails, and follow-ups were ignored. We never received ownership docs or warranty registration for the equipment.
We paid 50% upfront and before the remaining work was even started we were billed for the balance. That should have been a warning sign. A very frustrating and unprofessional experience. We strongly recommend choosing a different company.
