My neighbor hired this company to trim a tree that is located on our property, with some branches extending over their property. We have no issue with them trimming the portions of the tree that extend onto their property. That is not what happened here. The crew continued cutting approximately 8 feet beyond the property line and onto our property, despite the property line being clearly marked by a 6-foot wooden fence. This was not an ambiguous boundary or an accidental few inches over the line. When we approached the workers and asked them to stop cutting on our property, we were verbally harassed rather than given a professional response. The situation escalated to the point that we had to CALL THE POLICE to get the crew to stop. A professional tree service should understand the importance of property boundaries and, at an absolute minimum, respect a homeowner's request to stop work on their property. I have never encountered such blatant disregard for a homeowner's property and a direct request to stop. Having to call the police to protect our own property from a contractor is outrageous. I would strongly encourage anyone considering hiring this company to think carefully about whether this is the level of professionalism and respect they expect from a contractor working around their home.

Poor Folks Tree Service is professional and efficient! We needed limbs and branches removed from two very large trees that were dropping dead wood with the least amount of wind. We also needed a smaller tree trimmed and growth trimmed that was hanging over our fence and house. Tom understood my vision and made recommendations. He provided a fair estimate. The crew showed up ready to work. They work well together with everyone getting right to work and doing the job efficiently. They cleaned up and ground up all debris as they went along, instead of waiting until the end. This made it more time efficient and effective. The supervisors and crew were professional and personable. I am the type of customer that hangs out watching the progress. Brandon and Robert were very accessible, supervising the site and entertaining my many questions. Together, we did a bit of brainstorming to come up with the best option for one of the oddly shaped trees to be trimmed. Overall, I am very pleased with the service received and highly recommend them to others.

What a great tree service company!! Had a wonderful crew here yesterday pruning several large branches from our pine tree that were hanging over our house as well as a few others. I don't think you can a better job than what Poor Folks Tree Service did for us. Just a wonderful job all the way around! Pricing is extremely competitive! I would highly recommend them!

Don't use Poor Folks if you care about trees. My neighbor hired them to cut down large overhanging branches on my trees. When I asked if they have sealer to seal the new cuts they said no. I pointed out to them oak trees close by that our suffering with Oak Wilt and the technician seemed to not know what I was talking about. They said they do not carry sealer on the truck with them. Seems like a reputable tree company would carry tree sealer at all times. I offered a can of spray paint to seal cuts as they made them and he refused saying he did not need to seal cuts he made over the neighbor's property. He's in a bucket in the air right next to the branches he's cutting and refuses to take two seconds to spray and seal it. Keep in mind I'm only talking about branches he's cutting with the chainsaw leaving 3 to 6 inches or more surface exposed. He wasn't cutting with pruning shears or something. As hot as it is outside, I am sure Beatles are active and flocking to the Oak sap from the fresh cuts and killing the tree right now. Oak Wilt is highly transferable and very destructive to Red Oak trees. I can't understand a tree company that doesn't care about trees. I guess killing another oak tree just ensures work in the future.
