- CTCathy ThomannOct 8, 20265.0Kono Tree Care knocked it out of the park! 🌳 The crew did an amazing job taking down my HUGE gum tree—professional, efficient, careful, and clearly very good at what they do. They made a big job look easy and their price was excellent! I couldn’t be happier with the results and would absolutely recommend them!
- GBGarrett BenningerOct 3, 20265.0Julian and his team came in an did a great job with our 50 foot Ash tree removal. After working with Christian on the quote, Julian led his team and they were perfect. Trevor was also very helpful and left me the exact size stump I needed so I can have a chopping block for cutting the left over wood. If anyone ever needs a tree removed I will recommend they use Kono.
- JHJ HighamSep 16, 20265.05/5 Stars – Outstanding Service from Start to Finish! I couldn’t be happier with the incredible job Kono Tree Service did on my property. Christian Thomas and his crew removed six trees, took care of stump grinding, cleared out scattered saplings, and left the entire yard looking absolutely immaculate. From the initial quote to the final cleanup, Christian was professional, communicative, and extremely knowledgeable. He walked the property with me, explained the plan, and gave me a fair, transparent price. On work day, the team showed up right on time with top-tier equipment and worked safely, quickly, and efficiently. Watching them handle large tree removals with such precision was impressive. Once the trees were down and the stumps were ground, they took the extra time to clear away all the saplings and debris. By the time they left, my yard was cleaner than it was before they started! If you need any tree work done, save yourself the hassle of shopping around—Christian Thomas and Kono Tree Service are the absolute best in the business. Highly recommended!
- LCLianna ChildressAug 17, 20265.0Christian truly went above and beyond—literally! Our tree was in pretty rough shape, and before we had even signed a contract, he actually climbed up into the tree to secure it and make sure it was safe. I’ve never experienced a contractor who was willing to go the extra mile before even getting the job! And just when I thought the experience couldn’t get any better, it did! The crew arrived with all of their equipment and made the entire process so impressive to watch. They worked safely, efficiently, and professionally from start to finish. I was especially impressed by how careful they were with our property and how consistently they cleaned up as they worked. By the time they were finished, it honestly looked like they had never been there. They even went out of their way to mulch my neighbor’s limbs that were lying in the street, just another example of how thoughtful and hardworking this crew is. Lincoln, Lewis, West, Dan, Julian, and everyone else involved in the tree removal were professional, friendly, respectful, and incredibly hardworking. They were also so sweet and considerate when interacting with my newborn, which made the whole experience feel even more personal. If you’re looking for a tree service that genuinely cares about safety, quality, professionalism, and going the extra mile, I couldn’t recommend this crew more. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Frequently Asked Questions About Kono Tree Care
How often should I trim or prune my trees?
Most trees require trimming once or twice annually to preserve their shape and visual appeal. The frequency depends on the species, as each variety has different maintenance requirements. Contact Kono Tree Care for professional tree trimming services in Virginia Beach, VA, and we'll provide guidance based on your specific trees.
What are the signs of a tree in distress or poor health?
Warning signs include significant cavities in the trunk, peeling or falling bark, moisture seeping from the trunk, root decay, and branches that repeatedly fall or fail to produce new growth. If you notice these symptoms, contact Kono Tree Care for a professional tree assessment from a trusted local tree service in Virginia Beach, VA.
Are there any local regulations or permits required for tree removal?
Under Virginia law and the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act, trees located within 100 feet of tidal waters cannot be removed. If you're uncertain about whether your tree qualifies for removal, Kono Tree Care offers local tree removal services in Virginia Beach, VA. We'll visit your property to assess the situation and advise on compliance.
Are there any alternatives to tree removal if a tree is in poor health?
Treatment may be possible instead of complete removal. As an established tree service company in Virginia Beach, VA, Kono Tree Care can send a specialist to evaluate your tree and recommend appropriate treatment options.
When is the best time to prune my tree?
The optimal time for pruning is typically late winter or early spring, before the tree begins its new growth cycle. The ideal timing varies depending on the tree species and local climate conditions.
How do I know if my tree is dying?
Indicators of a dying tree include thin or discolored leaves, dead limbs, irregularities in the bark, and an obvious decline in vitality. An arborist consultation will provide a thorough evaluation of your tree's condition.
How much are tree removal/pruning services?
Pricing for tree removal or pruning depends on multiple factors including tree size, accessibility, and job complexity. Smaller projects may cost several hundred dollars, while larger or more intricate work can reach several thousand dollars. Contact Kono Tree Care for a detailed quote specific to your tree.
What types of trees are best for firewood?
Hardwood species such as oak, maple, and hickory make superior firewood choices. These woods burn at a slower rate and generate more heat than softwoods like pine. Properly seasoned wood with minimal moisture content provides the most efficient and cleanest burn.
