Recently I visited the Newport News, VA location Lowes store and what a difference between it and Hampton, VA location. I needed to return a broken Craftsman rachet that I had and get it swapped for a the exact same model. I was close to Hampton location and thought it would be easy, boy was I misinformed. Their customer service staff could not process the exchange, even though it clearly states craftsman tool exchange on their website and within craftsman service model. They kept looking for some kind of book that never did appear nor did even the manager have in possession. I eventually gave up and went back to Newport News location, where the agents quickly assessed and processed my even tool exchange, all in less than 5 minutes. Clearly Newport News must have the cheat codes when it comes to customer service. Bottom Line... If you need to exchange a qualified craftsman product, Newport News is your location.

Received excellent guidance from an employee on locating a part. The garden center now has self check out and I haven't received training on operating the kiosk. If one wants to receive their military discount, you have to have employee assistance. Why not just ring up my goods too?

I am a contractor, been coming just about every day to buy my materials and or tools, everybody in the store knows my name and even my kids name, the staff are friendly, helpful and informative when I need a deal on tools or materials, that's why my first choice before I purchase anything is coming to lowes in Newport News first, hand down they are the best team in the peninsula.

Hello. I made a purchase of this A/C unit with the intention of keeping my space cool (and keeping my dog from dying) when my A/C unit went out. I bought it in the evening of the 11th. Went to sleep and went to work the next day on the 12th. On the 13th, while on Duty(I'm active duty) where I'm legally obligated to remain on my ship for 24hrs, my wife informed me of the failure of the portable A/C unit but luckily our hvac system was repaired. My wife is incapable of lifting the portable A/C unit and returning it. Today, i attempted calling and explaining the issue and was told that i could not return said item. There was no postage on the item or at the register about a 48hr return limit. But even if there was, there was no forgiveness for my legal obligation to the Navy. Also, due to the response, i will clarify: customer care was also unhelpful in this issue. A completely different store handled my problem immediately though
