This was my first time renting a self storage space and I was careful to pick the right one. I was thrilled to find that the Extra Space Storage facility in Lynchburg on Border road is spotless clean, easy to find and navigate, and has some incredibly helpful staff. Upon reserving I received a welcome call, which was very helpful and generally unexpected. Upon arrival I received a tour and help finding my unit by Amanda, very helpful!
This facility is shockingly clean and new. The photos and drivebys of the other local options were discouraging at best, scary at worst. And the prices were all similar!
We made the right choice with Extra Space Storage.

Facility always kept neat and clean including the storage units. Front desk associates always respectful and nice with each service or any inquires I ever had. I’ve never had a problem with my items being stored in the past. Everything is self explanatory yet staff is around to help with any questions or concerns as well.

Kept storage with them for about a year, never had any issues with the location or any staff- main reason for leaving is price increases, went from $60/month, to $120, then finally to $207. That being said Trish and Tabitha were both helpful at move out and understanding as well when we’d forgotten to leave the door opened after emptying everything out.

Great storage facility.....Very friendly and helpful staff. Was a convenient place to store my daughter's college dorm room items. They helped me get a prorated rate for our last month due to a three day overage into the next billing month. Highly recommend this facility.

I was rushing into town to move into college when I realized I had left the keys to my lock at home in another state. Rushed around to get it replaced, and when I couldn’t, I rushed to the unit, got there 10mins past office hours, and saw Amanda standing right outside. I asked for her help, she politely told me she had just closed but was willing to reopen for me. She was absolutely amazing and patient throughout the whole process of getting my unit open including hauling a whole grinder out to cut off the master lock. She was an absolute blessing to my chaotic day and even put her own responsibilities aside for me. Thank you to Amanda for being willing and a light today!
