  Unresponsive and unprofessional. I supported this business several times, spending over a collective $1000 on mulch/compost alone. I ordered my compost, and even left a note in the order to deliver as early as possible the following day!! Not only did I get zero communication that there would be a delay, but the order was never delivered at all! They leave early before advertised closing hours all the time, and when you call or leave a message....you never get a response. They also take their sweet time replying to the business email listed for contact. Ill be taking my business to the small nursery on Fox Hill Rd. They are way more professional and responsive.

  Had bought a few truck loads of fill material. Then started getting loads of top soil . After about the 4th load which was on a Saturday, I still needed a few more . Sign on the door on Saturday said that the were open till 1.00pm on Sunday. .I thought great , I'll get another load on Sunday. I got up Sunday and called ahead just to make sure that they were open and the answering machine said that they were busy with another customer . It also said that they were open till 1.00 on Sunday. So I got in the truck and drove from newport news to mercury mulch to find that they were in fact closed . Wasted about 20.00 in gasoline in the truck and my time . So I went there this morning, it's Monday. I told the guy at the register about the situation and he acted like he did not care at all . Well it wasn't his gas or time that was wasted . His attitude was basically, oh well not my problem.. very unprofessional. When I'm done with this project I will never be back . And would Not recommend anyone go here .

  I ordered their Turfblend top soil to top dress my yard. It was full of broken glass as well as a lot of other debris/trash. I keep finding more glass in my yard as the days go by. I really hope my dog doesn't cut her paws in the yard. I'm not happy with this at all.

  Top tier compost and delivery. Have ordered a full delivery of mushroom compost in 2024 & 2026 and I cannot recommend them enough. Their delivery team is so kind, the mushroom compost is clean, super charged my backyard that was a clay wasteland of standing water into a growing haven. They make sure to bring it in fresh when the weather windows are finally open so you may have to wait a few weeks. Your patience will be rewarded. They take preorders and will work with your and the weather schedule for delivery. Tommy, Hunter and the crew there is everything great about a locally ran company. Do place an order for delivery. It’s worth it.
