I called Lowes in Gloucester, Virginia and asked what their return policy was on A/C units before purchasing one from them and was told 30 days by the store associate that took my call. I then bought a unit that same evening. Didn't have an opportunity to unbox and set up the unit (window) until the second day after purchasing it. The a/c unit was missing screws, rattled when turning on, and WAY too loud to sleep in the same room with. I called the next morning to see about a return and was told no and that there was a strict 48 hour return window on a/c units. WHY WASN'T I WARNED THERE WAS A SEPARATE SPECIAL RETURN TIMEFRAME FOR A/C UNITS? And why did the associate I spoke to on the phone tell me that Lowes has a 30 day return policy when I specifically asked about their return policy for window a/c units? That was the whole point of me calling ahead before driving there to spend almost 500 dollars on a unit.
