I was really disappointed with my experience at the Short Pump Lowe’s this past Tuesday. I took my son to look at the Halloween section as part of our mommy-and-me day because he absolutely LOVES Halloween. The store was nearly empty, there was no one else in the Halloween section, and we were simply enjoying looking at the decorations, pushing the buttons on the light-up displays, and watching the animatronics…you know, the things that are literally set up for customers to interact with.
My son was not being loud, disruptive, or making a mess. If he picked something up to look at it, he put it right back where it belonged. He was honestly just excited and having a great time.
Unfortunately, an older female employee repeatedly stared at us and shook her head in obvious annoyance. At one point, she actually started approaching us. Thankfully, another older couple happened to stop and talk to my son about how much they loved Halloween too and commented on how well-behaved he was. The employee appeared to hear the interaction and chose to walk away, rightfully so.
Having an employee looming around watching us and visibly acting as though a mother and young child quietly enjoying the Halloween merchandise were somehow an inconvenience completely changed the experience. What was supposed to be a fun little outing with my son became uncomfortable because I felt like we were being monitored for simply looking at merchandise.
If this employee is going to be working in the store, I genuinely hope management keeps her away from the Halloween section or other interactive seasonal displays. Families and children are naturally going to want to stop, look, and push the buttons on merchandise that is specifically displayed for that purpose. Customers shouldn’t be made to feel unwelcome or like they’re doing something wrong for enjoying it.
So, parents: enjoy the Halloween section, but apparently approach with caution if you see an older woman working nearby. 🎃 My son loved the displays! I just wish the employee hadn’t put such a damper on what was supposed to be a nice mother-son outing.

Diane working the self check out was extremely rude and and next to no customer service skills. I had an issue and she was very rude and didn’t listen to what I was trying to say. Kept cutting me off and was in my face. Would love if a regional director or manager could contact me about the situation.

I called to ask about employment and was treated very disrespectfully on the phone, I've never worked for a place like this so i don't understand how to apply because I come from a background of cooking. I was talked down to and treated like an idiot when asking questions and made to feel like I didn't know anything. I didn't catch the name but it was woman on the phone at customer service when I called at 11:48 to 11:50 a.m. on August 15th

Uncle Russ is a great guy. Asked about some stuff and it seems like he doesnt just sell tools he uses them. He gave me good advice and generally a friendly guy with lots of knowledge. I'd go back just to chat to Russ. Store is well stocked and interaction with other staff was good too. Lowe's has great pricing and Craftsman tools on sale ever so often.

I have been ordering kitchens from lowes short pump for years and Ron Salmon was the kitchen designer and I never had any issues with my orders. Unfortunately for me, Ton has retired and I ordered a kitchen with Simmone. I had such horrible experience with my order that I placed in May. Firstly the kitchen that she designed was not functional at all. It was a small kitchen and one of the base cabinet and stove had a clearance conflict and on the other side of the kitchen, dishwasher was bumping into the refrigerator once installed, even though I ordered a counter depth fridge. She had no idea about these nuances in kitchen design. Secondly, one cabinet from my order ended up at the Brook Road store and was sold to another customer. I was out of the country and I emailed Simmone telling her that the cabinet was not delivered. She told me she will follow up with me and a month passed and I didn’t hear any update on that cabinet despite multiple emails. I came back into the country in July and I went to the store on July 16 and I was informed that the one missing cabinet had never been re-ordered. The manager got involved but I didn’t get any answer on why my cabinet was sold to another customer and never re-ordered for me. Its safe to say this was the last time I will ever be ordering a kitchen from short pump Lowes.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase.
