  ⚠️CONTAMINATED SOIL! READ BEFORE BUYING ANY DIRT! Very disappointing experience. We specifically chose this nursery because we wanted to support a local business instead of going to a big box store. We were willing to spend the extra time and money because we honestly trusted we’d receive better quality dirt then said store like home depot. We purchased a cubic yard of soil and discovered, as soon as we got home and began unloading it, that it was heavily contaminated with plastic. This wasn’t just a a few minor pieces here and there, there were pieces of plastic throughout the soil, including larger fragments that appeared to be from plastic bags. I called shortly after getting home to ask whether the plastic was biodegradable because there was so much of it. I was told that it was not biodegradable and could potentially harm plants if there was enough of it present. When I asked how the issue could be resolved, I was told to manually sift through the soil myself. For an entire cubic yard of soil, that is not a realistic solution. To make matters worse, when I later spoke with the manager to request a refund, I was told no refund would be provided. I was also informed that if I wanted to return the contaminated soil, I would be charged a fee if i had them come get it themselves rather then me driving an hour round trip to do it myself, spending valuable gas and time for something that is entirely their fault. The conversation was dismissive, unhelpful, and far from the level of professionalism I expected, most disgusting experience i’ve ever had with a manager anywhere, they need to be properly addressed on how to act with customers. The most disappointing part is that we made a conscious effort to support a local business rather than simply buying from a big box store. Unfortunately, between the contaminated product and the refusal to take responsibility or provide a reasonable resolution, that trust was completely lost. I have photos of the contamination and my receipt. Based on this experience, I will not be returning The photos taken are from spending 30 seconds picking up plastic, i could fill an entire bucket with the amount that was in the entire pile of dirt

  Five stars to Ron Meadows and his team at Meadows Farms! He was wonderful to work with on my son’s community service project at Saint Charles Church. Ron went out of his way to make sure the trees arrived on time and was incredibly helpful throughout. The plants were lovely. Highly recommend!

  Very helpful and friendly staff. Lots of variety and high-quality plants. It's definitely more expensive than Home Depot but you get what you pay for.
