I find it funny that so many have complained about solicitation tactics and the company always responds that those tactics aren’t endorsed by the company and that it will ensure that it won’t happen again. From our recent experience, it’s obvious that Aptive does, indeed, condone and encourage this.
We live in a gated community, which requires homeowners to give permission to anyone entering. Yesterday we were inundated with solicitors for this company zipping around on hoverboards and e-scooters. Apparently the company’s truck was parked outside of the neighborhood, and these kids were able to zip past the gate. For the entire day, they went door to door, telling people that they “just finished treating a neighbor’s house” when, upon checking with the neighbor, finding that that was untrue. Security escorted them out on several occasions, with warnings that solicitors were expressly forbidden, only to have them get back in the neighborhood and continue.
I don’t care how good this company is (and from reviews, it seems like they’re not), but its disrespectful sales tactics should be a definite red flag for anyone considering using its service.

This was supposed to be a recheck from a previous visit. I requested a re-treatment of my basement and deck for bugs and rodents. Being a recheck, there should have been no charge.
Instead, the tech came out and gave a “standard” treatment. He was on property for only 11 minutes (according to his own service report), did not address any of my concerns, and charged a $110 visit fee.
My year long contract is up with Aptive. I will not continue with their services. They were great up until about January. Then they started missing appointments and becoming more copy paste in the services

Do you train your employees to ignore “No Solicitation” signs or disregard the meaning of private property? Based on recent events, it certainly appears that way.
Your two sales representatives entered the Stafford Lakes community and repeatedly disregarded clearly posted no solicitation notices. They walked across residents’ lawns who have "no walking on grass" signs, they remained on private property after being asked to leave, and they ignored clearly communicated boundaries. Your employee in the green shirt even had the audacity to tell us that our homes WEREN'T "private property."
This behavior was disrespectful to the residents of this community and unacceptable. It raises serious concerns about your company’s training, professionalism, and compliance with local regulations. We are also looking into whether your company and its representatives are properly licensed to solicit within Stafford County.
At this point, enough residents have been impacted that we intend to pursue accountability and report these incidents through the appropriate channels.

Hard Pass on This Company
Would not recommend. Had a really unprofessional run-in with one of their sales reps.
The guy rolled up to my house on a Segway, completely blew past my No Soliciting sign, and rang my doorbell — got my dog barking and pulled me out of a work meeting. I work from home, so the timing was terrible.
I answered the door, told him I was in a meeting, and pointed to the sign. His response? "Most people have a no soliciting sign because they have bad spending habits." Seriously? I told him that no, I have the sign because I work from home and don't like being interrupted — then wished him a good day and closed the door.
Thought that was the end of it, but NOPE! I looked out the window as I was walking back to my office and caught him swerving all over my front yard on his little scooter. So, I went back outside to get his name and the company he was with. He wouldn't give me his name and actually covered his name tag so I couldn't read it. He did admit he was with Aptive Pest Control though, which the tag confirmed before he hid it.
I've got pictures and a video if anyone wants to see them.
The company chose this guy to represent them — so I have to assume this is just how they operate. Hard no from me.

I would not recommend Aptive based on my experience.
I was almost pressured into signing up at my door for what I believed was a one-time mosquito treatment. It later turned out that I had been enrolled in a premium service plan instead.
The problems started immediately. No one showed up for the secpnd scheduled service, and I had to make multiple phone calls to find out what happened. I was also charged more than the amount I had originally agreed to.
Several appointments had to be rescheduled, which was frustrating. When the technician finally came for the second service, he spent less than 15 minutes on my property, yet I was charged $115 instead of the agreed $85. Which for the time spend is ridiculous. He did not even touch the mosquito traps in the back.
To make matters worse, I later discovered there is a $200 early cancellation fee if you want to end the service before the contract expires.
Overall, the experience felt misleading from the initial sales process through billing and service quality. I expected much better communication, transparency, and value for the price.

Why am I still seeing pests after my first treatment?
If you are seeing pests right after your treatment, odds are you are witnessing them flee your property, which typically means the treatment is effective. If after a week you are still seeing pests, give us a call and our service professional will gladly return to treat your home at no additional cost.
How much does professional pest control cost?
Our professional pest control plans start as low as $49 to $55 per month for our Basic plan, depending on your location. We offer three primary tiers—Basic, Pro, and Premium—designed to fit different levels of protection needs and budgets.
Do you offer same-day pest control services?
Yes, depending on current technician availability. If you call before noon, we can often provide same-day service for urgent pest issues.
How soon can a technician come out for an emergency?
We strive for 24 to 48-hour response times. For emergencies like a yellow jacket nest or indoor roach sightings, we prioritize your call in our daily schedule.
Do you spray both the inside and outside of the house?
Yes, standard service covers both. We focus on the exterior to stop pests at the source and treat the interior (baseboards/under sinks) to eliminate any that have already entered.
What areas are included in a "perimeter" treatment?
A perimeter treatment covers 3 feet up the foundation and 3 feet out into the yard. We also treat windowsills, door frames, and eaves.
How do I get rid of an ant infestation in my kitchen?
To stop ants, we use "transferable" baits. Workers carry the bait back to the queen, killing the entire colony rather than just the ants you see on the counter.
What is the best treatment for German cockroaches?
German roaches require a combination of baiting, insect growth regulators (IGRs), and sanitation. They are resilient, so 2–3 follow-up visits are often required for total elimination.
Is pest control safe for children and infants?
Yes, we prioritize family-safe applications. By focusing on the exterior and using low-toxicity indoor treatments, we minimize exposure. We recommend keeping children out of treated areas for 30–60 minutes until dry.
What is your "Pest-Free Guarantee"?
Our guarantee means if the pests return between scheduled visits, we return for free. We stay until the problem is solved.
Do you offer free re-treatments?
Yes, all of our recurring plans include unlimited free re-treatments for covered pests.
Why am I still seeing bugs after my first service?
This is the "flush out" period. The treatment is driving pests out of their hiding spots. They will die off shortly after coming into contact with the product.
Why is the pest problem getting worse?
This usually happens with ants and roaches as they are attracted to our baits. This "surge" is a sign that the colony is actively feeding on the treatment.
How can I tell if a treatment was successful?
Success is measured by a steady decrease in sightings and finding dead insects rather than live ones.
Do you guarantee 100% elimination?
We guarantee to control and manage populations to the point where they do not infest your living space. No one can stop every single bug from ever entering, but we ensure they don't stay.
