  Terrible Customer service, just called to check if the delivery truck can fit my driveway that is 10 feet wide, the Customer service lady could not answer that and was really rude. She said 'go to our website and check what kind of trucks we have by going to the bottom of our home page and click on green button'. There is no such information on their website, she said its my problem I cannot find that information. Well, I will be taking my business elsewhere. With that kind of rude customer service I would not be surprised if they go out of business.

  Another great (half cord) delivery from these guys! Driver was friendly and on time, dropped onto tarp in driveway. Will definitely keep getting fire pit wood refilled from Saunders!

  We cannot recommend Saunders for soil delivery. We do not believe we received what we paid for and were disappointed in the explanation we received when we called. We ordered 3 cu yards of topsoil/compost blend based on Saunders website descriptions and over-the-phone recommendation. They knew that we were looking to fill raised beds for our vegetable garden and said that their 50/50 blend would be perfect for the job. Their website describes the topsoil as being passed through a 1/2 inch sieve. We relied on this description and their statements over the phone because they do not have a storefront. What they delivered on Friday was full of grapefruit to watermelon sized boulders of clay (see photos). When we called to inquire about these giant hunks of clay, which looked as though they had never passed through any kind of sieve, they were extremely defensive. They blamed the composition of the delivered materials on record rainfall and argued that the product would be fine for our purposes. They indicated we could just throw the boulders into our raised beds and did not even need to break them up. Of course we could not do so, and had to spend additional labor time breaking up some of the smaller chunks to fill our raised beds. Saunders admitted that we should have been warned that soil compaction was likely both in the website product description and when we called to order. No such warnings were given. We were repeatedly challenged to read the product description from the website. When we did so aloud to Saunders' representative, he acknowledged it did not warn us of clumping. Regardless, there is simply no way that portions of this delivery passed through a 1/2 inch sieve. Despite ordering more soil then we even needed for our project, we ended up having to put more money down to purchase additional topsoil and compost from Merrifield Garden Center and Home Depot in order to finish filling our raised beds. We used as much of the soil as we could, which involved sifting through the delivered soil and picking out the largest boulders of clay and setting them aside. We now have two piles of clay boulders in our driveway that we have to find a place for in our yard, or dispose of ourselves. This is additional labor that we did not anticipate and should not have to do. We have ordered bulk topsoil in the past and never would have expected to receive material of such poor quality as what we received from Saunders last week. Ordering from Saunders was a huge mistake we won't repeat and won't recommend to our friends and neighbors.
