  Plant enthusiasts, look no further. This is the spot! Wonderful staff, high selection of specialized pots, substrate, and plants. They even have garden furniture solutions. I’ll be coming back often!

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I have to give a HUGE shout-out to Madam Lacey over at J & J’s Nursery in Layton, because this woman is basically the weed doctor of Northern Utah. 😂🌱 I walked in with approximately 47 questions, zero confidence, and the general plant knowledge of someone who thinks “just water it” is a legitimate horticultural care plan. Thankfully, Madam Lacey knew exactly what she was doing. She can look at a plant, a weed, a thorny little demon from the depths of the earth, and apparently identify it faster than I can identify what I had for breakfast. Most importantly, this woman knows a goat head when she sees one. And let me tell you, that is an IMPORTANT skill. Because when you’re staring at a pile of suspicious green things wondering, “Is this a plant, a weed, or a head of cabbage?” Madam Lacey has the answers. 😂🥬🌵 Seriously though, J & J’s Nursery is the kind of place where you can actually ask questions without feeling like you should already know the answers. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely seems to care about helping people find the right plants and actually keep the dang things alive. So if you need plants, gardening advice, weed identification, or someone to prevent you from accidentally nurturing a goat head like it’s your new favorite houseplant, go see Madam Lacey at J & J’s Nursery. 10/10 would recommend. 10/10 would trust her with my plants. 10/10 would NOT trust a goat head around my bare feet. 😂 Shout-out to Madam Lacey — the weed doctor, plant whisperer, and official goat-head-from-a-head-of-cabbage identification specialist. 🌱😂

  I came in there to get a load of dirt today. First part was great. The lady at the contractor desk was pleasant. Came back later to get another load of dirt. Back to the contractor desk, not so pleasant. The lady was helping out another customer, which was fine. She asked me what do I need? I said another load a dirt. She responded you can go inside and pay. I said it’s ok all wait. As I sat there and observed, she was not very patient with the other lady. So she finishes up with the other customer takes my order and that’s it. She doesn’t call to get anybody to go out and help me, but she did the first time I go outside and wait for 10 minutes. Nobody comes so I walk in the shack where there’s I think maybe some help a gentleman sitting on his butt watching YouTube videos on his phone can barely look at me and ask me what I need and says maybe there’s somebody out there there that can help you just stand by the loader doesn’t bother to help me or give any interest at all that I need help? As far as I’m concerned, the customer service was terrible. I was very upset at the fact that this gentleman couldn’t even get up and give me a hand and looking at the yard. There was no customers nobody was busy, so I finally found the young kid and he graciously come and help me he was the only one that was helpful but the lady at the cash register not very nice. Very grouchy. Needs to find another job if she doesn’t like what she’s doing I give him one star I will find another nursery to deal with. And further The lady at the register made a comment to me because I asked the customer a question if she was going to plant all those plants she said yes but then the cashier makes a comment. That’s why this is a contractor’s desk informing me that I should’ve gone in the store to pay for my load and she didn’t wanna help me. My point is if this is just a contractors desk I feel sorry for the contractors that deal with this moment. They should put a sign saying if you’re not a contractor going to the store I can accept that but there’s no sign.
