I hired Purchase Green for what was represented as a straightforward 1–2 day turf installation project, their representative, Will, visited my property multiple times to review the site, discuss the project scope, and prepare the quote. Based on those meetings and the company’s professional online presence, I felt confident moving forward.
On 5/5/2026, materials were delivered to my home. The following day, two workers arrived with only basic hand tools, worked for a few hours while spending much of the time on their phones then left the project unfinished.
At the end of the day, my property was left in terrible condition, as shown in the photos. After that, communication became extremely poor. For several days, Will did not respond to calls or text messages. Over the following days, he repeatedly stated that he was “working on it.”
Between 5/12 and 5/14, I was told another landscaping company would arrive on Saturday, 5/16, to complete the groundwork, and the installation crew could return on Monday, 5/19, to finish the project.
However, when I requested confirmation on the tone of the conversation changed . He repeatedly claimed he was “doing me a favor” by sending workers and stated that his boss wanted to walk away from the project entirely.
As a paying customer and homeowner, these statements were shocking and completely unacceptable.
Unfortunately, no landscaper arrived that Saturday. Will’s phone went straight to voicemail, and nobody from the company contacted us. We were devastated.
For weeks, my backyard remained an unfinished construction site filled with gravel, trash, and dirt. Materials sat in my driveway while rain washed sand into the street and wind carried debris into neighboring properties, resulting in HOA complaints and embarrassment . I escalated the matter and contacted an area manager I found through the company website. Initially, she was professional, thoughtful, and apologetic. She informed me that Will had been terminated on Friday, 5/15 .She visited my property, listened to our concerns, and stated she would work on resolving the situation.
Kimberly explained that Will obviously no the right person for the job right forthe project and that the company was trying to “find a solution.”
By this point, nearly four weeks had passed. Eventually, we demanded a concrete solution. Kimberly stated she was still working on it but offered to send a crew to “clean up the area” in the meantime
While I was traveling, my wife was home when the crew arrived. While she was inside on the phone, the crew began loading the project materials back onto their truck without authorization.
They did not come to clean the property they came intending to remove the materials and walk away from the project entirely.
We confronted the crew and nearly involved law enforcement before stopping them from leaving with the materials. It was an unbelievable situation.
Then, today, I received a revised quote from Kimberly increasing the original project price by approximately $6,500 bringing the total to $10,000. I was told I had only two options:
1. Accept the significantly higher quote, or
2. Receive a refund of my deposit while they remove the materials and walk away.
From my experience, this company’s process appears to involve starting projects, leaving them incomplete for extended periods, creating stressful and embarrassing situations for homeowners, and then pressuring customers into paying substantially more money to resolve the problems they created.
Beyond the financial dispute, there is also the unresolved damage and disruption they caused: the condition of my backyard, the debris left behind, the impact on my pool, and the weekend we could not enjoy our backyard and pool. These are real consequences that extend far beyond any quoted project price and cannot simply be dismissed or offset with anything
This has been one of the most stressful, unprofessional, and poorly managed home improvement experiences I have ever dealt with. I CAN NOT and WILL NOT recommend this company to anyone
STAY AWAY!!
