Service Decrease and No Restroom:
They get 2 stars b/c I don't have any issues with my unit. I was a tenant of LifeStorage from 2019-2024. Then, switched to Extra Space in Jan. 2024, when they bought out the company, in many areas of TN after the Dec. 2023 tornados. When I first moved in this place was nice. Spring/ Summer 2025-Spring 2026, no restrooms with tissue any longer, so you'd have to bring your own tissue. Fast forward to Aug. 2026, no Restrooms at all. I know they were having issues w/a homeless man wanting to wander in his unit, but at least we could bring tissue and still use the restroom.
I just left the front desk where security says, "No public restrooms, and tries to redirect me to a fast food restaurant like I'm a BUM!" I explained, "Uh, I just left my unit. Been there an hour working. There's a restroom across from your front desk, to which she replies, "Not anymore. No restrooms work and there are no working public restrooms." My response? Uh, I pay almost $300/month, I'm not the general public. She really didn't say anything except repeating the same phrase.
Oh, and they don't answer the phone, anymore. Everything is automated or AI, B/C the only thing that people are good for is? Their money. What an inhumane way to treat a loyal customer. While I wish my life were more stable, and I didn't even NEED a storage unit, that's not my current situation, and Idk when that will improve. But, as a person who has paid (a variation of) the same company for 7years, I expect to be treated as a human, not a dog....

I had an outstanding experience at Extra Space Storage thanks to Tonnie. From the moment I walked in, she was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about making the process as easy as possible. She took the time to answer all of my questions, explained everything clearly, and helped me find the storage option that best fit my needs without ever making me feel rushed.
Customer service like hers is hard to find these days. The facility was clean, well-maintained, and secure, but what really stood out was Tonnie’s positive attitude and willingness to go above and beyond when I had a lockout issue. She made what could have been a stressful experience simple and hassle-free.
If you’re looking for a storage facility with exceptional service, I highly recommend Extra Space Storage—be sure to ask for Tonnie. She truly deserves recognition for the excellent job she does!

When I initially looked for storage options, this facility offered the most favorable rate, including a promotion that allowed me to pay only $100 for the first two months. Since then, the rental fee has increased by $25 every three months, and I am now paying approximately $141 per month for a smaller unit. Despite the size of my unit, the monthly cost has risen to nearly $200, with no apparent limit on future charges. I am considering switching to another provider. I also want to note that I am not even renting one of the air-conditioned units or the units that resemble garage sheds, yet my expenses continue to grow. I have been using this facility for approximately 13 months.

I have 3 units at different storage facilities and this one is the most expensive. The climate controlled units door is broken half the time and there are birds inside that will poop on your items because the top is only fenced. The rates will increase after 6 months significantly and will not provide any discounts for second units. I actually just called to inquire and the lady didnt seem to like her job very much at all. Seemed like she was annoyed to answer my questions. They do have rat traps everywhere which I guess is a good thing but also not great. The gentleman I rented from was very nice though.
