On April 29, 2026, I purchased a new Samsung refrigerator from Lowe’s Home Improvement in LaFollette, Tennessee, for $2,160 cash.
Unfortunately, what followed was one of the most frustrating retail experiences I have ever had.
The first refrigerator leaked water shortly after installation due to a faulty connection. Lowe’s quickly arranged a replacement, but the second refrigerator arrived damaged before it could even be unloaded from the truck. A third refrigerator was then delivered on May 4, and after restocking it with groceries and leaving home for several hours, I returned to find the internal temperature at 72 degrees and most of my groceries spoiled.
Over the next several days, I spent a lot of time trying to resolve the situation. I was transferred between multiple employees, received conflicting information regarding refunds and replacements, and had difficulty getting clear answers about what the next step would be. Meanwhile, my family was left without a working refrigerator and living out of coolers.
To Lowe’s credit, several employees did genuinely try to help. Olivia, Kimmy, and Amy were consistently professional, patient, and helpful throughout the process. Olivia especially went above and beyond to help resolve issues that should have been handled much earlier.
Eventually, on May 10, 2026, I finally received a refrigerator that worked. However, despite paying for installation, I ultimately had to complete the installation myself because the delivery team stated they did not have installation listed on their paperwork.
Lowe’s did eventually provide partial compensation for some of the spoiled groceries along with a discount on the replacement refrigerator, which I appreciated. Still, the overall experience was stressful, time-consuming, and far more difficult than it should have been for such a major purchase.
While I truly appreciate the effort made by Olivia, Kimmy, and Amy, this experience unfortunately damaged my confidence in Lowe’s overall customer service and delivery process.

You lost a customer today. I came in looking to buy a backup battery ups, that your website said this store specifically had 29 of in stock. Employee told me what aisle they were in, there was literally nothing, I wasted nearly an hour today trying to find something that you probably don't know or not if you even carry despite your website said your store and location had.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s.
