We are new to the area and were interested in having shutters installed for 12 windows (of varying sizes) in our brand new home. Blinds & Designs was recommended to us by our realtor. Contacting them was the first thing we did after closing on our home. Scott came to our home within a few days, measured our windows and went over all of our options . We were impressed with his knowledge and understanding of what we were looking for. We ordered the shutters and were surprised how quickly they arrived! The installer was very professional, and competent. We can’t say enough about the quality of these shutters! They are perfect and exactly what we had hoped they would be. They complement our new home and make it complete. Thank you!!

I cannot adequately express how disappointing and frustrating this experience was. We hired this company expecting professionalism, accountability, and quality service consistent with the premium prices they charge and the reputation they market. Instead, this became one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had.
The process was plagued with repeated issues, delays, poor communication, and ongoing frustration. By the time our final installation day arrived (several months after our order was placed and paid for), we were already exhausted from dealing with the situation. Rather than acknowledging the problems, the company representative who came to our home dismissed our concerns in person, telling us the situation was “not that big of a deal” and that we were “blowing things out of proportion.” Having paid over $10,000 for an order and having black paper taped in the windows of my children's bedrooms for months at a time was apparently "not that big of a deal" for this company. After months of issues, that level of disrespect alone was shocking but what happened next was worse.
Standing in our kitchen, the company representative agreed to an additional refund amount to resolve the situation. We shook hands on it. In exchange, I agreed not to leave a negative review and not to share our experience with the realtor who referred us to the company. Within hours, ownership walked back the agreement over email. That was the moment it became clear that their word means very little once they believe the job is finished.
Mistakes happen in business. Delays happen. Installation issues happen. What defines a company is how they handle problems when they arise. In our case, the response was dismissiveness, minimization, and ultimately refusing to honor an agreement that had already been made face-to-face in our home.
The shades are finally installed, but I would never use this company again, and I would never recommend them to anyone — especially anyone expecting professionalism, integrity, or accountability commensurate with the prices being charged. There are so many local businesses that would be honored to have your business and will take the opportunity to treat you well - unfortunately, this isn't one of them.
