We have been long time customers, from pool build, open and close, biweekly cleaning, to anything that arises unexpectedly and very much appreciate the continued professionalism and prompt response for all of our pool needs! Big shout out to Robin in service and to Jeff & Kim who care for the pool as if it was theirs! Thanks Yorktown Pools and Spas!

Not the best experience overall. The office staff are nice and respond in a timely manner. We were told on day of service they would be there later in the afternoon but they arrived a few hours early and our pool wasn't quite full enough when they arrived. They literally just put the tubes on and told us to call if there were any issues. I was told what pool chemicals to buy before they arrived. When they called me the day before to tell me when they would be coming, I reiterated what supplies I was told to buy, and the man on the phone said, we'll take care of that tomorrow, you don't need to worry about that or buy anything. But when the pool guys showed up they said they don't help with or provide chemicals (which is clearly stated in the contract so that was our fault), so we were confused. The pool "teaching" was not very helpful. They didn't discuss anything with chemicals and mainly showed us how to backwash and read the filter gauge. When our pool water line was higher a few hours later and we turned the pool on, several of the hoses blew off, and we had to pay a $50 fee for them to come back out and properly put the hoses back on. I provided my credit card information when I scheduled the service and continue to receive invoices in the mail asking for a check to be sent. We paid around $250 in total and services were for hoses to be put on and then for them to come back out and put them on again. Very dissatisfied with the amount of money we have paid for what was done. We ended up going to Buchmeyer pools and they helped us figure everything out. They tested our water and recommended a chemical regimen and within a few days our pool is clear and running smoothly. Buchmeyer even came out to check our system and fix our sand filter. We're new to the above ground pool scene and we should have done more research or watched more Youtube videos before spending a bunch of money. So don't make the same mistakes we did.

We can’t say enough good things about Yorktown Pools. We’ve worked with Rob, Robin, Micah, and the entire team for years, and their service has always been exceptional.
They handle our pool opening and closing each season, recently converted our pool to salt water, have completed repairs over the years, and installed a new liner for us a few years ago. Every project has been handled professionally, efficiently, and with genuine care.
What truly sets them apart is their customer service. Today, we accidentally drained our pool, and within hours they had water delivery arranged and made us a priority to get us back up and running. That level of responsiveness and commitment is rare.
Not only is the Yorktown Pools team outstanding, but the contractors they partner with have been equally impressive. If you’re looking for a company that stands behind its work, treats customers like family, and consistently goes above and beyond, Yorktown Pools is the best in the business. Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions About Yorktown Pools & Spas
Do I need to clean my mesh winter cover?
Generally, cleaning isn't necessary. However, if substantial debris accumulates, you may need to rinse it off. Remember to alternate the folding direction when storing. Allow the cover to dry completely before rolling it up. Store it in a location that's inaccessible to mice and ants to prevent damage from chewing.
How do I care for and store my robotic cleaner?
For optimal care of your robotic cleaner, consider these points: use the appropriate time settings for your cleaning needs, avoid extension cords if possible, disconnect the cord after each use, clean the filter bag regularly, handle the cleaner carefully to prevent damage, and store it in a warm place during winter to avoid freeze damage. For specific concerns, consult the manufacturer's website or contact Yorktown Pools & Spas.
Why do I need to shock my swimming pool?
Shocking your pool is essential to maintain water quality. Over time, organic materials combine with chlorine to form 'combined chlorine,' which is less effective at disinfection and can cause irritation. Regular shock treatments break down these compounds, restoring the effectiveness of the chlorine sanitizer. This process, also known as super chlorination, involves adding a large dose of chlorine to the pool.
Why is filtration important to the quality of swimming pool water?
Filtration plays a crucial role in maintaining pool water quality by removing visible contaminants. The filter system eliminates hair, dirt, skin particles, metal or calcium deposits, and other debris. Without effective filtration, these elements would accumulate, resulting in cloudy and hazy pool water.
How do I know when it's time to clean my swimming pool filter?
While regular backwashing typically suffices for routine maintenance, over time, substances like grease, oils, and scale can accumulate on the filter media. This buildup can lead to shorter filter cycles, reduced water circulation, and persistent cloudiness in the pool water. To prevent these issues, we recommend thorough cleaning at mid-season and at the end of the swimming season.

Why should I shock my swimming pool and how often?

How do I care for and store my robotic pool cleaner properly?
