Ordered a door for curbside pickup. Arrived and checked in, waited over 20 minutes. Every curbside pickup spot was now full. Finally husband went inside and the two people assigned to curbside pickup were too busy playing on their phones and neither of them noticed all of the curbside pick up alerts. After 27 years shopping at that location, we had a very disappointing experience at the Lowe’s on 5th Street Highway
My husband purchased a tool that broke the very first time it was used. He returned to the store simply to ask whether it was eligible for a return and, if not, why. The customer service associate told him it was not returnable, and he politely asked for the reason.
At that point, an assistant manager named Jose (who refused to reveal last name) stepped in. Instead of explaining the policy or trying to help, the assistant manager immediately took a confrontational approach. Said this is second time repeating item is not returnable, and warned that if continued asking questions, would have him escorted out of the store by police. He was never aggressive, never raised voices, and never disrupted the store. Simply asking for an explanation.
After leaving, I called the store to speak with the Store Manager to file a complaint. Unfortunately, Jose answered the phone again. Rather than transferring me to the Store Manager, he falsely accused me of harassing and threatening him, even though my only request was to speak with the Store Manager about how a customer had been treated.
He also claimed that he had provided manufacturer’s contact information for us to dissolve the issue, also claiming being staying there asking questions is disrupting the store’s business. Neither statement is true. Manufactures continue info was never given and he did not interrupt anyone’s business. The store’s security camera footage would clearly show exactly what happened.
I understand that not every product can be returned, and I would have accepted that if someone had simply explained the policy professionally and respectfully. What I cannot accept is being treated with hostility, threatened with removal from the store for asking a reasonable question, and then being falsely accused afterward.
I hope Lowe’s management reviews the security footage and addresses how customers are treated at this location. Respectful communication and honesty should be expected from anyone in a management position.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order.
