I hate having to go to the store. Not just this location this store in general. There’s never any help and when you do find somebody with the red vest it’s either not their department, they’re on break or they’re new and don’t know anything. I recommend Lowe’s start cross training there employees

Expensive. I strongly suggest to put every item you plan to purchase in an online cart and compare to HomeDepot and Amazon . Lowes never comes out on top, so I go there only in a pinch. Even so the shrubs and flowers look impressive, they are way overpriced compared to other local offerings.

Walking into a home improvement store usually comes with a clear game plan. You know what you need, you know where it should be, and you expect to grab it and go. Unfortunately, my latest trip to the Lehighton Lowe's location did not go quite that smoothly. I would rate the overall experience about 6 out of 10 on the Osiris Hotness Scale. It is a score that reflects a deeply frustrating visit, balanced only by the fact that I know this store is capable of doing much better based on my past visits.
To be completely fair, every retail store experiences an off day. Employees call out, foot traffic spikes unexpectedly, and shifts get overwhelmed. At first, I wanted to chalk up the lack of service to just a temporary reflection of a bad afternoon. I have had a couple of really good, helpful interactions with the staff here in the past, so I know the potential for great customer service exists within these walls. However, those positive experiences are starting to feel like distant memories. It is becoming far more frequent—honestly, more often than not lately—to encounter days where the store feels completely understaffed, and finding a employee to help you feels like searching for a needle in a haystack.
**** The core of the issue**** during this specific trip was centered directly in the smart home electronics section. Retail security has understandably changed over the last few years, but the current setup here makes a simple purchase incredibly challenging. Almost every high-value smart home item—from security cameras and smart thermostats to video doorbells—is locked securely behind glass display cases or bound tightly to the shelves. You literally cannot just pick up the product, put it in your cart, and walk to the front registers to pay for it. The entire buying process is completely dependent on an employee being physically present to unlock the merchandise for you.
Because you cannot access the items yourself, you are entirely at the mercy of the floor staff. I stood in the aisle waiting, looking around for anyone wearing a red vest. I pressed the assistance call buttons and waited patiently, but nobody ever came to help. It is incredibly demoralizing as a customer to stand in front of a product you are ready and willing to buy, only to be forced to leave empty-handed because the store's security infrastructure outpaces its labor support. If a retailer is going to lock down entire aisles of inventory, they have a responsibility to staff those departments adequately. Otherwise, they are just driving loyal local customers away to online alternatives.
I really hope the Lehighton management team can get things back on track, bridge this service gap, and ensure that help is actually available when a customer is standing by ready to make a purchase.
