  Extremely Disappointing Customer Service – Lowe’s Has Lost My Business Wow. At this point, I am beyond frustrated with Lowe’s, from the customer service to the quality of the products being sold. I purchased a Toro lawn mower on clearance because my previous mower unexpectedly died and I needed a replacement. The mower appeared to have been sitting in the store for quite some time, as the box was dusty and visibly banged up. Unfortunately, it turned out that the mower was broken. Two weeks later, I returned it. I had kept everything, including the original packaging, instruction manual, and both my printed and emailed receipts. The return was accepted, but when I explained that I had purchased it using my Lowe’s credit card, which I had already paid off, and asked whether I could receive a cash refund, I was told no. The refund was processed back to my credit account. As a result, I was left with a $500 credit balance and had to contact Synchrony Bank myself to request a refund. I was advised that the process could take up to 15 business days. Now, I am left waiting weeks for my own money to be returned, all while dealing with a situation that should have been handled much more professionally from the beginning. What made the experience even worse was the employee’s attitude. I was polite throughout the interaction, yet she was unfriendly, rolled her eyes, and treated me as though I had done something wrong. There was absolutely no reason for that level of disrespect toward a customer who was simply trying to return a defective product. Unfortunately, the problems did not end at the checkout counter. When I called the store for assistance, I was bounced from department to department. I asked to speak with a manager and was transferred to a cashier, who then sent me to the appliance department. I repeatedly explained that I was calling about a return and a refund issue, not an appliance inquiry. Nobody seemed to know who could help me or where to direct my call. I ultimately requested a callback from the store manager, Mel, and have yet to hear from her. The lack of communication and accountability is just as disappointing as the original experience. And this is not an isolated incident. I have experienced poor customer service at this location before. On another visit, an employee followed me around the store while I was shopping with a cart full of merchandise and a pull of lumber. I understand that stores have procedures to prevent theft, but there is a difference between providing appropriate oversight and making a paying customer feel as though they are being treated like a criminal. I should not have to feel uncomfortable simply because I am shopping with a large amount of merchandise. As a Director of Training and Member Services at a credit union, I understand the importance of customer service, professionalism, and employee training. I teach my own employees that how we treat people matters. Customers remember how they are treated, especially when something goes wrong. Mistakes happen, products can be defective, and returns are part of doing business. What matters is how a company handles those situations. Lowe’s could benefit tremendously from stronger management oversight, improved employee training, and a serious review of its customer service standards. Customers should not have to fight their way through multiple departments, chase down management, or spend weeks trying to resolve a straightforward refund issue. I have spent a considerable amount of money at Lowe’s over the years, and I am extremely disappointed that this is how the company chooses to treat its customers. At this point, I would rather take my business to Home Depot, where I hope for a much better overall experience. Lowe’s has lost my business. Between the defective product, the disrespectful treatment, the runaround when seeking help, and the complete lack of follow-up from management, I have reached my limit. I hope corporate takes these concerns seriously because this location needs significant improvement.

  Gary in the appliance area went completely above and beyond to help me find us the right appliances based on the measurements we provided. Go see him and cut through the frustration of appliance shopping!

  I ordered a stove from Lowe’s Store #2411, originally scheduled for delivery on July 4th. What followed was four separate failed delivery attempts, each with no real explanation and no proactive communication from the store. Every time I called to sort things out, I was met with rude and unhelpful customer service. I eventually escalated to the store’s general manager, Mel, hoping for a resolution — but the experience there was no better. Nothing was done to actually fix the problem or get my stove delivered. After weeks of failed attempts and no accountability from anyone at this store, I ultimately had to cancel my order entirely. I never received the stove I paid for. I would strongly caution anyone against ordering appliances for delivery from this location — the incompetence and lack of basic customer service made a simple purchase into a month-long ordeal for nothing.
