In my seach, I found the Natural Furniture website. The site was excellent and informative - I was able to read about all the woods they use, construction, finishes, and, most importantly to me, detailed size charts. I had looked at other sites, which required a lot of searching to find needed information, had far fewer options, or would off wooden bookcases that had a cardboard back. The gentleman who helped us was friendly, but never pushy, and let us shop without being hovered over. He was clearly paying attention to our conversation because when he could offer pertinent information, he did. And he explained the timing in terms of construction (I need the cases to abut, so they will modify the decorative top and bottom edges. The shop doesn't look like much from the outside, but the products inside were uniformly well constructed and could satisfy many different tastes. The cases were not cheap, but they were very fairly priced with lots of options, and they were SOLID. These will last for years without bowing and look gorgeous doing so. Highly, highly recommended!

We were refurbishing our home after rebuilding it (we’d suffered a devastating house fire in 2024) and the folks there were incredibly helpful, kind, patient, and accommodating. The furniture we purchased met and exceeded our expectations. When one of the pieces that we received had an issue with a screw hole, they came out to our house and fixed the problem that week. They acquired extra hardware for us upon request. They expedited the finish of furniture we wanted custom finished so that it would be ready as soon as our house was ready for us to move in. And they matched discounts offered at other stores. During a period where we were both excited yet overwhelmed to re-fill an entire house with furniture at one time, they were incredibly helpful, informative, and responsive. We will absolutely buy from them again and recommend them highly.

Yes, all our products adhere to Proposition 65 standards. However, if you have severe allergies or sensitivities, we advise against purchasing any wood products. Many wood items may contain latex and/or formaldehyde-based glue to maintain adhesive properties, which could trigger allergies in some individuals.
What kind of stain do you sell and use for finishing?
We proudly offer Penofin Verde oil stains—a 0-VOC, 100% sustainable, petroleum-free stain perfect for your unfinished furniture. Penofin Verde is eco-friendly, odorless, and fume-free, making it safe for your home. With easy soap and water cleanup and up to 99% UV protection, it ensures your furniture stays beautiful and durable.
How do I apply Penofin Verde stain myself?
Coat each part of the piece you want to be stained with the stain and let it sit wet for about 15 minutes. Then wipe it all off with cotton rags. Make sure to put the rags in a plastic bag with some water and tie them off before throwing the bag away. It is an oil-based stain, so there is a chance for combustion.
After about two days, when the piece is dry, use 0000 super fine steel wool or 400 grit sandpaper to go over the surfaces that you stained. Apply a second coat, let it sit for 10 minutes, and again wipe it off with cotton rags. Dispose of the rags in a plastic bag with some water. After a few days of drying, your furniture should be ready for use.
Note: If you are finishing something with drawers, like a chest or dresser, there is no need to apply stain to the drawer boxes. This would keep the smell of the stain in for a long time and cause your clothes to smell as well.
How should I care for my wood furniture?
Avoid using nail polish remover or acetone near your finished wood products to prevent severe damage. Instead, clean with a damp cloth, avoiding dry dusting to prevent pushing dirt into the surface. Opt for gentle cleaners like Howard Orange Oil or Method Daily Wood Cleaner, steering clear of silicone, wax solvents, or abrasives. Never use alcohol, as it can also harm the finish. Place your furniture away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent alterations to the finish or wood. Maintain humidity levels between 35 and 45 percent to prevent drying out or warping. Regularly remove dust to prevent dullness and scratching, and promptly wipe up spills to avoid damage.
