We have been Lowe’s customers for over 25 years and Lowe’s credit card holders for approximately 20 years. Unfortunately, after our recent experience, we will never purchase from Lowe’s again.
On July 9, we purchased two sliding glass doors with installation and used our Lowe’s credit card specifically to receive the 5% discount. We paid the entire balance 20 days after the purchase.
Three days after the account was paid in full, I noticed a $128 interest charge. When I contacted the credit card bank, I was told Lowe’s had changed its policy and now calculates interest daily. They refused to waive the charge, so I paid the $128 and closed our Lowe’s credit card account. After being a loyal customer and cardholder for decades, this was extremely frustrating.
Unfortunately, that was only the beginning.
Our doors were scheduled for delivery today, August 15, with installation scheduled for Monday, August 17. I made arrangements with my work to be home for the installation.
Then we received multiple calls, texts, and emails informing us that the delivery had been rescheduled for August 21 and installation for August 22—both dates when we will be at work.
We called the Lowe’s store to try to get answers, and no one could tell us what was happening or why the schedule had changed.
At this point, we have thousands of dollars tied up in this purchase, have already paid $128 in interest despite paying the balance in full, have rearranged our work schedules, and still don’t have our doors. Most concerning is that we have very little confidence that the delivery and installation will actually happen on the newly scheduled dates.
After 25+ years of being loyal Lowe’s customers, this experience has been incredibly disappointing. The lack of communication, the financing experience, and now the installation/delivery issues have completely destroyed our confidence in Lowe’s.
We will be taking our future business elsewhere. Hopefully Home Depot provides a much better customer experience.
Lowe’s has lost a long-time customer over this.

Today August 11,2026 I went to Lowe’s in Bend Oregon around 3 pm to pick up an order. I went in through the Lumber exit. There was an employee ( man) on his cellphone standing there. I am assuming at the time he was on that register. I took note and went to the front to get my order. As I walked back to the same location to get my order he still was by the door on his phone. 15-20 minutes went by and there he stood on his phone.. Then a customer came up and he helped him check out. I was enlightened that he was getting paid while being on his cellphone. As I
came to check out with my products I said to him” I use to be a service desk lead at Home Depot, but have since retired… if I would have seen you on your phone I would have said something and then wrote you up. There are things I feel you could have been doing and yet you played on your phone?” He slowly grabbed his phone off his desk and put it away. Hope he realizes people are watching and who knows you never know if the store owner would be walking through.
