  WOW. Let me just tell you: your search for a pool builder is officially over. Long story short, I have NEVER seen a team of contractors move this well and this fast, and I recommend Vista Pools in a heartbeat. I’m a lifelong swimmer, and I decided to go big with a custom gunite / plaster saltwater pool from Vista. Multiple people on my street were happy with prefab fiberglass pools from them, so they suggested that I talk to Scott and JJ about one too. I met with Scott, and we immediately got along. I asked for a quote on something bigger -- a custom pool with a full 25-yard lap lane. He delivered the quote, sent a design concept, and after a little back-and-forth, we had something that looked great. We walked through the plans at WalkYourPlans, made a few tweaks, and were set. Within a week, there was a massive hole in the ground, and the work was basically nonstop until the pool was finished. I keep telling people that I've never seen anything like it. You know how contractors usually are... well, not these guys. It was wild. They also accommodated one major change I needed to make to the shallow end, still with little delay. Every team involved in the project did phenomenal work. A friend who knows metalwork came by and said the rebar looked fantastic. The gunite and plaster look amazing. The tile work marking my lap lane was completed perfectly to my specs (I do wish we picked darker marker/spotter tiles on the stairs though, but that's on us, not the tile guys). The Hayward equipment they selected is working perfectly, and after the initial plaster startup period, we converted the pool to saltwater. The lighting, filtration, heating and cooling, and chlorinator all work together very well. One thing you need to understand is that the larger the pool, the greater the maintenance and chemistry requirements -- especially during the first few months with gunite and plaster. You either need to budget for professional maintenance, or be prepared to spend time learning and dealing with it yourself. During the first month, daily brushing is a MUST. I would honestly suggest brushing twice a day when possible and keeping as much dirt as you can from settling into the new plaster. It's a workout! Vista will help you get started, but after handoff, maintaining the water and protecting the new pool becomes your full responsibility. Ask questions, get a proper test kit and cleaning tools while it's still being built, and take the startup process seriously. If you love water / pools / swimming or are a bit of a nerd, you'll enjoy it. But if not, budget for someone to maintain it professionally. All in all, this has been a life-changing purchase for me. I knew I would like having a pool. What I didn't realize was that this was effectively a lifelong dream of mine, and now I will NEVER want to live without easy access to a lap lane again. I’m completely hooked. Thank you to Scott and JJ for delivering it. It has truly been a blessing. Go with Vista Pools and you won’t regret it.

  3 weeks from groundbreaking to finished installation. The entire process was communicated very well. We knew almost daily what to expect that day and the next couple of days. Can't say enough about communicating. JJ does a great job of keeping everyone informed. Vista's sub-contractors were excellent. Very professional and completed their part of the project on time and as expected. Would highly recommend Vista Pools for your pool project.

They guided us through every phase — initial contact, design conversations, and choosing the perfect pool for our yard. We ended up selecting the Thursday Pools Aspen 35×16 in Caribbean Sparkle, and their honesty about the pros and cons made the decision easy. They were always willing to answer questions, no matter how small, and their communication was consistent from start to finish. The installation went smoothly with zero issues, and the final result looks incredible — exactly what we hoped for. Their payment schedule was clear, fair, and tied to actual project milestones, which made the entire process feel transparent and stress free.
