  I made an appointment with alterations a week in advance. They ended up being 30 minutes late. My dress is hemmed, but the quality is awful. I paid $100 to get a single layer satin dress (bought at Nordstrom) hemmed shorter. I added a picture to compare a satin dress I hemmed myself a few years ago (left, light green - not a professional, first time hemming satin), versus the one hemmed at Nordstrom (right, periwinkle and yellow.) Not only is the quality of hemming awful, but the website advertises “free alterations” if the item is bought from Nordstrom. Definitely wasn’t free, but should have been.

  I had a very disappointing experience with the tailoring department at Nordstrom. Even though I had an appointment, I still had to wait while they helped walk-in customers and people shopping. There was no direction when I arrived, I was simply put in a dressing room with no explanation and left there without assistance for quite a while. Pricing was also not transparent at all and no one explained costs until I specifically asked. What upset me most was the change in attitude once they found out the pants were purchased elsewhere. From that moment on, we were treated poorly and felt looked down on. Don’t offer the service then. Overall, the service was disorganized, unprofessional, and unwelcoming. I took my clothes and left and will pay the up charge for a professional tailor for a better experience.

  I booked an appointment ahead of time and waited nearly an hour before I finally went up to ask where the tailor was. Whoever I spoke to was very kind and got the tailor for me right away, but ironically, the tailor (Gregory J.) was the worst part of this experience. After waiting for so long, I’m blown away at how rude, disrespectful, and cold he was. Any questions I asked, he spoke to me like I was dumb for saying anything. Maybe he is a great tailor but I was so disappointed in my interaction with him, I requested to have any other tailor work on my dress than him. Hopefully I just caught him on a bad day (as we all have those); otherwise, I strongly advise going somewhere else.

  Waited 40 minutes for her to tell me they wouldn’t shorten my jeans. Waste of my time. Will never use their service again and would reconsider buying from Nordstrom as a result. Use a local tailor. They will value your business more.
