  I went to get lime green paint, and J'wann was patience, made sure the color was right. I also learned alot about different paints. Great customer service, and very professional. Thank you!!

  Been coming here for years, but today I was very disappointed in the older lady with the walker who works with the self-check-out area. I think her name is Bernie. I have seen her on many occasions previously and she is always very sweet. I don't know if she had a bad day today, but my wife was trying to find help in the hardware department and ended up going over to Bernie to see if she could call someone. Bernie replied that she couldn't due to her phone having a dead battery, and said someone should be back there. She then told my wife that she needs to "be patient". This was after we had been waiting for a good 10-15 minutes for someone to show up. I understand if Bernie wasn't able to leave her post or call someone, but telling my wife she has to be patient was very unprofessional. That is surely NOT what you tell any customer. It upset both of us. Then, later on, as we were checking out, we had some long screws that didn't have a bar code. Bernie motioned with her hand for my wife to come closer so she could teach her how to look up an item. The way she did it was a bit condescending and I was very disappointed in her overall attitude. I am not picking on her because of her age as she has always been amazingly sweet the many times I've seen her previously. I was just very surprised and unhappy with how she was interacting with my wife today, and I expected so much more from Bernie. Next time I visit I won't go out of my way to be friendly to her. Please tell her never to say "be patient" to a customer. It is very rude and unprofessional.

  Kendal was absolutely wonderful! He helped us with our paint and was so kind, patient, and helpful throughout the entire process. He made sure we had exactly what we needed and made the whole experience so easy and pleasant. Great customer service and such a positive attitude. We really loved the tip to look at paint samples in natural light! What a difference it made! Thank you, Kendal!

  Currently waiting 20+ minutes for curbside order. Happens every time—“hang on, we’re running behind…” called in, been in AI hell calling them to see when they will “conveniently bring our order directly to our car.” We do not recommend the curbside service. At least if you want to have your stuff actually conveniently delivered to your car.

  Before I say anything else, I just want to emphasize that the service recovery of a couple of employees is what saved my experience and this review. Justus (I think the associate store manager?) was proactive and courteous, and problem-solved to make what was a frustrating experience ultimately come out okay. He obviously takes pride in his work and cares about treating people coming for help with a service/product as actual people who are having a problem and seeking a solution, which is so appreciated. I want to call out and comment how he and another associate (whose name I didn’t catch, I’m sorry!) noticed that I was looking uncertain and unsatisfied and approached me to ask if I needed help, rather than waiting for me to find them or someone else. They were in the middle of a different task, no less, so I especially appreciate that they paused that to help solve the problem I was having. They get full marks from me and I wish it were possible to separately rate the employee service versus the system of off-location storage and online ordering, which seems to be the bigger problem than employee customer service. The process of ordering an item online and picking it up was very frustrating and (ironically) time consuming. My order contained two different items. You would think, given that it was a single order, these would be made available for pick up at the same time. This was not the case, as it turned out, so I ended up having to make two trips out, a week apart - one for one part of the order, a second for the other part. This wouldn’t have been necessary if the system would hold your order for pickup until all the items were ready, but when I received the notification that my order was ready for pickup, it also specified that it would only be held until a few days after. Again, this is a perfectly reasonable policy, IF everything is coming at the same time. If not, it just means you have to make separate trips for each item as it comes in, which is time consuming and defies common sense. Anyway, a week later, I come back for the second part of my order. It’s the right thing, and comes out on time, but it is in terrible shape - damaged and just looks bad. I then had to choose between complaining about this and asking for a replacement, but potentially having to wait another week and risk the same problem happening again, or just sucking it up and paying full price for a product that was already messed up. Because it had to be delivered to the store from a separate warehouse, there was no other identical, non-damaged item to swap in for it, so in the end, with the help of Justus as mentioned above, I walked away with a similar product, but still not the item that I had specifically picked out and waited ~ 2 weeks to have delivered so that I could proceed with my project. I’m okay with what I got instead, but it still would’ve been nice to have the thing that I actually thought I would be getting. Ironically, the store probably lost money on it also, because the item they gave me as a replacement was more expensive than the one I had originally ordered, but they (rightly) did not make me pay more for it, since it was Lowes’s error. Again, I would diagnose this as an issue with prioritizing an Amazon-style delivery system over the regular function of a brick and mortar hardware store.
