I would like to respond to the review left by April Green. April Green did not buy any mattresses or box springs from A & E Distributors, EVER. She purchased her mattresses from A-1 Mattress which was owned by John Kujawa and has since gone out of business.
The review left by April Green is not factual and in no way reflects the quality and customer service provided by A & E Distributors.
The owner of A & E Distributors is now and has always been Louis Povio and NOT John Kujawa as falsely posted by April Green!!!!
A & E Distributors is a highly respected business with over 30 years of excellent customer service and great quality bedding.

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY- BED BUGS...BED BUGS BED BUGS....Do not purchase any mattresses from this company. I purchased two mattresses and box springs just this pass Tuesday 3/16/20. Purchased delivery. When arrived there was no one to assist with taking furniture in my home. Tuesday my son began to get bite marks on his body causing swelling. My first thought - this has to be spider bites. I began to exterminate my sons room. After I few nights with several bites and swellings. I realize this has to have something to do with the mattress, I just didn’t want to believe that this could be possible. Who would sell this type of merchandise. Check the bed noticed very small insects in the mattress(bed bugs). Called the company, explained that mattresses were just purchased and there are bed bugs. Owner hung up the phone. Went to the establishment owner John - began to tell us that we brought the bugs to the mattress from a grocery store. My son got it from some where else. Very rude inconsiderate. Called the police. Police advise that there were several cases from this establishment. Owner refused to give our money back. Said to get out of there store as we are carrying bed bugs. Very sad. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. BED BUGS

We just moved back to the Rochester area and had nothing but an air mattress. When we woke up half way to the ground we realized we needed a real mattress, so I found an ad from Facebook about the mattresses here. Although the place was a little difficult to find, we managed to get the right suite and leave with a 10' double sided queen mattress and box spring for $324 (that's with tax included). They also tied it to our car very securely for free! So glad we found this place.

What's the difference between wholesale and retail mattress pricing?
Wholesale pricing eliminates retail markups by allowing businesses to purchase directly from a regional distributor. Buyers access warehouse-based inventory at consistent rates, which helps maintain stock without the overhead of traditional retail channels. At A&E Distributors, we've supported bulk buyers across New York with dependable wholesale supply since 1978.
How does buying mattresses in bulk benefit property managers?
Bulk purchasing ensures consistent inventory availability and lowers per-unit costs, crucial for managing multiple properties or units. Property managers avoid the uncertainty of retail stock and can reorder from a reliable local source. This approach is especially valuable for Airbnb hosts, landlords, and hotel managers serving Rochester and surrounding areas.
Why do mattresses need box springs?
Box springs provide essential support that extends mattress lifespan and maintains proper alignment and comfort. They absorb impact, reduce mattress wear, and create a stable foundation for residential and commercial bedding setups. At A&E Distributors, we supply box springs in all standard sizes to match wholesale mattress orders.
Can nonprofits order wholesale mattresses in New York?
Yes, nonprofits can access wholesale mattress pricing through distributors that serve high-volume buyers. This approach helps organizations furnish shelters, transitional housing, or community facilities while managing tight budgets. A&E Distributors operates from Rochester and serves customers across Western and Central New York with dependable delivery options.
What's the biggest mistake retail stores make when ordering mattresses?

At A&E Distributors, we help retail stores maintain reliable bedding supply through consistent warehouse availability and decades of regional expertise.
Do you offer both standard (9") and low-profile (5") box springs for hotel and commercial bulk orders?
Yes — A&E Distributors supplies both standard 9" and low-profile 5" box springs for commercial bulk orders. A&E Distributors supplies wholesale box springs to hotels and hospitality businesses in Rochester, NY, with bulk pricing available on full commercial orders. Where can I find mattresses near me in Rochester at a reasonable price?
A&E Distributors supplies mattresses at wholesale prices direct from their Rochester, NY warehouse, cutting out the retail middleman so buyers pay significantly less than typical store prices. This makes them a practical option for anyone in the Rochester area who needs a quality mattress without paying full retail markup.
Is buying directly from a wholesale mattress distributor cheaper than going to a retail store?
Yes — wholesale distributors price mattresses without the retail margin layered on top, which typically means meaningfully lower costs per unit. For buyers in New York purchasing even a small number of mattresses, sourcing directly from a distributor like A&E Distributors in Rochester can represent significant savings compared to retail store pricing.
How often should you replace your mattress?
Most mattresses should be replaced every 5–7 years, depending on the quality, materials, and amount of use. Replacing an older mattress can improve comfort, support, and sleep quality.
Is buying a wholesale mattress worth it?
Yes. Buying from a wholesale mattress distributor often allows you to purchase a quality mattress at a lower price because you're avoiding many of the markups associated with traditional retail stores.
Why is a mattress considered a long-term investment?
A mattress is used every night and directly impacts your comfort and sleep quality. Investing in a quality mattress that lasts several years provides lasting value and can reduce the need for frequent replacements.
Does a more expensive mattress always mean better quality?
Not necessarily. Many wholesale mattress distributors offer high-quality mattresses at lower prices by cutting out unnecessary retail costs rather than sacrificing quality.
Why buy a mattress from a distributor instead of a retail store?
Buying from a distributor can provide better pricing, greater overall value, and access to quality mattresses without the added costs often built into traditional retail pricing.
