  I special ordered mirrored closet doors in May. They arrived in June, when I went to the store to pick them up they were damaged. Apparently, the only way to fix the problem was to “return them.” So I wheeled the doors over from the pick up area to the return desk. Now I was charged a restocking fee. I never wanted to accept the doors. This mishap was probably because they are trying to fudge their times on the pick up service. I did have to wait a long time for them to find the doors, so they marked them handed off to me, well before I even saw them. So the solution that day was to reorder the doors at full price and they would refund me the restocking fee when I picked up the new doors. The manager never came out to explain that to me. That solution took over an hour for the store to come up with. So, being out the restocking fee I called the 1800 number, the operator there told me he would escalate the incident and that a customer rep would get back to me in a few days. That never happened. I gave up, hoping the store and manager did come up with the proper solution to refund the restocking fee when I picked up the new doors. Now it’s July and the second doors arrived to the store. they were damaged as well. However, this time they refunded me the full price I paid for the doors. Keep in mind, I’m still out the restocking fee from the first time. Once again, no manager, a little less than an hour later, the solution was it would be refunded to me in 3-10 days. That manager never explained it to me, the return desk put me on the phone with a customer rep from the 1800 number. Basically they called the 1800 number for me. So, there was no plan in place to refund the restocking fee when I went to pick up the second order. Before you respond to this message how you are happy to help. Please note, I have personally called the 1800 number after each time and this has not been resolved. The store apparently called the 1800 number and still not resolved. Bottom line, this store charged me a restocking fee for items that were damaged in shipment. I never received the doors. I spent an hour each day at the store during the pick up time and am out $70+ dollars for a “restocking fee.” I would even take a gift card, but I was never able to speak to the manager. So after all this time I wasted, maybe someday I will be refunded a fee? What a waste of my time. It is now Aug 30 and there still has been no resolution with my order. the Corporate 1800 number (after saying they would refund me the money in 3-10 days) then told me that it has to be handled at the store. That was two weeks ago, the store still has not handled it despite the situation being "elevated" and switched to the store to handle. Lowes sucks. As the other comments mention. Be careful if you special order from this store.

  I ordered a dishwasher online, and it was marked ready for pickup three days before I arrived. I expected to be in and out, but instead I had to wait over 30 minutes while the staff tried to locate it. If an item is marked “ready for pickup,” it should actually be ready when the customer arrives. The whole purpose of ordering ahead is to save time, and this experience did the opposite. Very disappointing, and I hope they improve their pickup process.

  I would strongly recommend that anyone considering a major purchase from Lowe’s think twice before spending their money here. We purchased an item that Lowe’s happily sold us despite apparently being out of stock. A delivery date was scheduled, and we rearranged our plans to be available for the delivery. The day came and went, and nothing arrived. What makes this experience completely unacceptable is the total lack of communication. We received no phone call, no email, no text message—nothing. We were left waiting, only to discover after contacting Lowe’s ourselves that the item was simply out of stock. How does a company this large allow customers to purchase inventory they don’t actually have? Even more concerning, how do they fail to notify customers that their scheduled delivery isn’t happening? This demonstrates a complete lack of respect for their customers’ time and money. In today’s world, there is no excuse for inventory systems and customer communication to be this poor. If you need something delivered on time or expect even the most basic level of customer service, I would strongly encourage you to shop elsewhere. There are plenty of retailers that value their customers enough to communicate when there’s a problem. This was an incredibly frustrating experience, and based on how it was handled, I will not be purchasing from Lowe’s again.
