If you ask for very little out of life, you may be pleased with the Lowe's Poughkeepsie store experience. It's big, clean, well stocked, has ample parking, and has numerous employees working in it. In other words, they get one star for providing the basics...just like getting points on a school test for writing your name.
If you ask for anything more...you will be sorely disappointed. There is a toxic "them" (customers) versus "us" (staff) mentality among the employees of Lowes Poughkeepsie. They are incapable of nuance. Managers and Customer Service Associates go from 0-60 in moments...they seem to come alive when you ask them to engage beyond their tunnelvision. Then the hostility begins...They also have limited understanding of their own store policies...such as about the Lowes branded credit card (Synchrony Bank)...and how it allows for returns within 365 Days.
You tell them "but it's your own store card" and they actually say "we have nothing to do with that card." OK. Except maybe your name is on it?
Maybe if some of the team would look around them for once instead of actively avoiding customers, this would be clear to them.
This is a place to avoid.

We’ve spent at least $50,000 at this Lowe’s store between renovating our last house, my husbands business and now building our current house. In February we put in a $10,000 window order and it has been a complete nightmare since. Tim and Millie do not respond to emails when we confront them about problems. They have ordered the wrong windows multiple times. We have been back and forth to the store so many times with our 2 babies because it seems to be the only way to get answers. It’s so ridiculous, neither my husband nor I have time to waste trying to fix their mistakes. They do not take accountability for their mistakes. We have asked Lyric and Millie for their managers email so we can reach out to them about our problems but they will not respond. It’s nearly July and we are still waiting for the correct windows. I would never recommend this Lowes location to anyone.

I visited Lowe's recently to look for bathroom sinks and faucets. They have a fantastic selection, and I was happy to find that a lot of the items were actually in stock. Definitely recommended for home updates!

If I had to rate this, I certainly couldn't give it one star. I cannot believe a customer service manager—Andrea—could be so incompetent. My order had arrived, and I had already paid the delivery fee; however, because it was a special item, I needed an explanation as to why I was being asked to pay again. She tried to explain, but I wasn't sure I fully understood, so I asked her to slow down. Instead, Andrea displayed a terrible attitude and seemed intent on pushing us toward cancelling the order. When I asked to speak with a higher-ranking manager for an explanation, she simply walked away. We are long-time customers of Lowe's, and I am baffled as to how Andrea ever managed to reach a customer service management position.
