  I've been using this storage facility since June 2026, and it's my first time using a storage facility. As I do appreciate the structure of it, and how clean it is, I also feel the staff is friendly and helpful. The only issue that I have is that the main entrance to The storage facility where my unit is has been broken for a while! You normally need a code to get in, but the doors have malfunctioned and anyone can pry it open. We did bring this up at the main desk, and they said they are aware, but it's very expensive and they have not been able to fix it yet. They did give us a small discount on our bill for the month, but I'm surprised that it has not been fixed yet. Anyone can get into the facility even if you have to use the code in two different locations. It feels unsafe if I have to get in by myself to know that the door is completely open to the entire unit facility. And saying that something is too expensive to fix, to a customer who pays monthly is unprofessional and unacceptable. It has been weeks, and this door is still wide open when I go. Pearl River location.

  Very disappointed with how this situation was handled. We won an auction unit at this location, arrived the same day, paid for it, and spent several hours cleaning and emptying the unit. The manager personally confirmed that the unit had been fully cleared and that all requirements had been completed. Our only request was to receive our cleaning deposit that evening, as we had already traveled approximately 70 miles to the facility and would otherwise need to make another 140-mile round trip the following day just to collect the deposit. We understand that the office had officially closed and that policies exist for a reason. However, we were disappointed by the lack of communication and flexibility despite the circumstances and despite the manager still being present on site. Following this incident, I was restricted from participating in auctions across the entire Extra Space Storage network despite having a positive history and good relationships with many other locations and managers. I believe customers should be able to leave honest feedback about their experience without fearing consequences that affect their ability to continue doing business with an entire company.
