  A JOKE. STEER CLEAR OF THIS LOWES. I Purchased a craftsman sit down lawn mower 45 days ago, fuel pump flooded with gas, gas hoses have tears leaking out of two fuel lines. I was told this would not be a problem for Oneonta Lowe’s location and told me to kick rocks and figure it out myself. No compensation, no returns no help given. Just a snotty attitude and nothing Lowe’s can do. Save yourself $2200 and go to home depot down the street. This location SALES BAD PARTS AND EQUIPMENT SAFTEY ISSUES

  1 star — Lowe's Pro Desk almost cost me my business this summer. I'm a small contractor (just me and one helper some days). This siding job was my only booking for the season, and Lowe's mismanagement turned it into a disaster. I ordered $15,000+ in specialty siding in April with a confirmed 6-week lead time and got a delivery date to match. From there it fell apart. I spent a week fighting for callbacks just to order caulk and soffit. I got repeated texts and emails confirming delivery dates, and three separate dates came and went with nothing delivered. Eventually I found out my order had been sitting in their warehouse the entire time, never entered into the system. A random warehouse worker figured it out by accident, not my Pro. When I finally went to pick up the last of the order, it wasn't just damaged, it was the wrong product entirely: smooth panels instead of the cedar texture I ordered. When I confronted the manager and the Pro about it, they told me the 4 to 6 week estimate was "just an estimate" and that it happens a lot that it takes much longer. I asked why they don't just tell customers that upfront. They had nothing to say. That tells you everything. they know their timelines are unreliable and let contractors plan around them anyway. I tore a customer's house apart trusting their timeline, lost 3+ weeks of work, and still don't have the correct materials to finish the job, which means my final payment is pushed back even further. All from Lowe's internal mismanagement and a Pro Desk that couldn't communicate or get an order right. I'm not a huge account, but I spend $20-40k a year at Lowe's between materials for my contracting business and my furniture company. Not anymore, my local lumber yard and Home Depot will be getting that business from now on. If you're a contractor who needs reliable lead times and accurate orders to keep your business running, go elsewhere.

  Until recently I preferred Lowes over HD. Neither is very good for the same reasons so it's all about price. As expected one has a sale on a stove the other on a dishwasher. Each store has help that isn't really qualified for a specific department they just walk around and try to help. NOT a great idea. But now there is something new to rate them on. Who they use for the service contract. Lowes has Assurant Claims who has some connection to the old Sears which was better off dead and buried. Great at one time but..... They are horrible. Made the original appointment 2+ weeks out. It's a dishwasher. I can wash by hand like when we were kids so I'm okay. Since then I have gotten 3 texts asking if Id like to bump up the date. I responded yes to the first one and no one showed or called. A day wasted. Oh, their window of repair is 8am to 5pm. No calls to narrow it down. Even Spectrum gives you a 4 hour window and a call. The next two I said no, Ill keep original date. I strongly believe this is all AI induced. Anyway, both these companies HD & Lowes believe there not responsible for this behavior. Not true. Lowes in this case hired these people Lowes is responsible for THEIR behavior towards customers. They work and represent Lowes. They washed their hands of the situation by telling me to call Assurant. Problem is you cant. All robotics. No human no real customer service So, it has now cost Lowe's a stove sale, $2000.00 cause my old stove elements stopped working. I'm buying it tomorrow. On top of it all Lowes is $200.66 more money. That's my story and I bet I'm not alone. We let these big companies take control cause they are cheaper. We don't buy from the small guy anymore cause of price. Does this sound familiar to anyone? We gave China our total manufacturing business because the made a T shirt for 50 cents instead of a dollar. We've done it again.

  Recently I submitted an online order for SAME DAY DELIVERY...and it turned out to be quite a learning experience that I'll share with others who may be interested in also ordering items for same day delivery. The biggest lesson I learned (and their online ordering system is not updated to inform customers of this) is that most 'same day deliveries' are delivered by THIRD PARTIES - and most of them do not have trucks. So, if you are ordering larger items or large volumes of lumber - the odds are that you most likely will not get it delivered on the same day (as is what happened in my case). The delivery window provided to us was a 12-hour one (from 8am to 8pm). We planned our day around this window to ensure someone was home all day long. It wasn't until after 5pm when we received a text notification that our delivery will be delayed and would not occur on the same day as stated on the website (they were kind enough to provide us with a $25 gift card for the inconvenience). Since I now had the time to go and hand pick the boards I'd ordered online earlier that morning, I drove to Lowe's that evening and found that an associate, Allie, was starting to pull the boards for my order. She was excellent and was careful to inspect each board before pulling them for me. We worked together to fulfill my order - she was very patient as we sorted through a lot of lumber to find acceptable boards for my project. She then ensured my name and order number were on the cart with all the boards we selected for an expected delivery the next day. THANK YOU ALLIE! When I called the next day to get an update on the status of my expected delivery was when I was informed of the entire process and reasons for delays with 'same day orders' performed by third parties (basically like a 'Door Dash' service by folks with a side gig). With that information, and the realization that there'd still most likely not be a driver with a personal vehicle large enough to deliver my lumber, I chose to pick up the lumber myself (with the kindness of my neighbor and his cargo trailer). My cart of hand-picked lumber was still there and we loaded it up on the trailer. Lowe's also provided me with a refund of the delivery fee. In the end, it all worked out, and everyone I contacted at Lowe's were terrific about the whole situation. I just want to recognize that fact and let others know that - for large orders - the odds of actually getting 'same day delivery' (despite it being an option on their website) is not very good.
