I purchased four buckets of flooring adhesive from Lowe's, and one of the buckets turned out to be defective—the glue was completely dried up and unusable. I returned to the store just four days later to exchange or return it, but the manager, Zach, refused to help.
During a 20-minute conversation, he kept changing his reason for denying the return. First, he said it was purchased too long ago, then claimed it was hazardous material, and finally told me I had to contact the manufacturer. He ultimately told me he didn't care if I took the defective glue or left it there, but I wasn't getting a refund.
After leaving the store, I called Lowe's customer service, and they confirmed that the store should have accepted the return and that nothing in Lowe's return policy prevented it. The entire experience was frustrating and completely avoidable. Zach appears to have little understanding of Lowe's own return policy, and his handling of the situation was unprofessional. I expected much better customer service.

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order.
