When I first walked into Extra Space Storage in Long Island, the pricing was actually higher than nearby competitors, and I almost went next door to rent for less. What kept me here was the customer service from Robert and Cody during my tour of the units. They genuinely wanted the best outcome for me, not just a sale, and it showed.
I want to be clear about how much of a difference this made: I later got an offer from Public Storage for roughly half what I was paying here before I signed with extra space but I declined and stayed with extra space, because of the level of service Robert and Cody consistently provided.
I held off on writing this review at first, thinking it might just be a one-time good experience. But after several months of interacting with them, I can say it wasn't a fluke. It was consistent, every time.
I rent storage units in multiple cities with different companies, so I have a real basis for comparison. Robert and Cody are genuinely rare. They're the kind of people who make a business, and Extra Space Storage is lucky to have them. I hope the company recognizes what they've got and holds onto them.
