FALSE ADVERTISING. I signed up for a unit that is 5x6 at rate of $35/month. It then increased a few months later to $58/month. And now $149/month (at the 1 year mark). When I spoke to customer service they said that the unit is $149/month and that is the price after you've had it for 1 year. There is NOTHING on the lease that describes this (only that the rent may be increased and I'd be given 30 days notice). However, they clearly have a scheduled rent increase over the course of the first year of occupancy (which is not advertised to the customer). When I signed up, the employees said they were unsure of increases and that it "won't increase by much". FALSE ADVERTISING AND ENTRAPMENT. The woman would not work with me at all and just told me how to go about canceling it. When I pointed out that the lease paperwork should be updated to show the clear schedule of rent increases she again just told me how to cancel.

I have been to 4 different storage facilities in 20 years. I left them because either I moved or didn't need them anymore or just got too expensive. But other than that, I have liked them and the people working there. First, I'll state the differences that Citiwide didn't have that the others did have. Citiwide does not have automatic elevators. They have an elevator operator and only one elevator can be used at a time. All the others have at least 2 automatic elevators. You push the floor yourself. And the elevator is slow because it is old, and there has been times where I waited almost 10 minutes waiting only to walk 6 flights down and the operator is away in the office or whatever. Also the lighting on the floor is not that great, I always have to bring my own portable lights because it's dim in the storage room. Public storage is very bright, plenty of lights. Also there are no cameras on the floors, so if you are on a floor and for whatever reason you get hurt or fall down, whatever, no one from the office will see you. All the other Storage places have cameras on every floor. One time the lights were shut off while I was inside because the elevator operator thought no one was on the floor. Neeer called out or checked the floor to see. And in asking why, Shawn from the office was very rude in answering. Young elevator operator working that night says that's how he is. That he has many arguments with other customers. Guess it's his power trip. And the incompetent manger Shawn didn't even offer to apologize. Also parking there is tight going down the street if you have a big truck making the turn. There are better storage facilities. Public, Moishe. Maybe more convenient for some that live there close. But not worth it for me, it was the worst for me.
