    Big box store. Less and less staff. Nothing it's where it's supposed to be in the store. Website says in stock but no one can locate the item. Self checkout nightmare. 4-6 check outs with one staff member trouble shooting everyone. I try not to go here if I can

    Posting this so others are aware before purchasing equipment from Lowe's Home Improvement in Latham, NY. We purchased a riding lawnmower that was sold to us as new. Within an hour of getting it home, we found a large, rusted dent on the floorboard, widespread scratches/cosmetic damage, a heavily rusted blade, and grass/dirt buildup inside the deck housing. When we called the store that night, we were basically told this was “normal.” The next day, a manager told us the mower “looked 2 years old.” During later conversations with corporate customer care, we were then told the mower was an older model that had apparently been sitting outside for “a few years.” Despite that, it was displayed and sold alongside actual new models at full price. The mower was eventually replaced and we received partial compensation after an absurd amount of back and forth, but the explanations the entire way through were inconsistent, communication was terrible, and nobody could give a straight answer as to how a mower in that condition could appropriately be sold as new. Sharing this so others know to thoroughly inspect expensive equipment before leaving the store, and perhaps take their business somewhere other than Lowe’s.

    NO EMPLOYEES ARE ON DUTY AT THIS STORE (#1177)IN LATHAM, NY AFTER 5:00PM! NO ASSISTANCE WAS AVAILABLE! EVERY DEPARTMENT WAS “SELF SERVICE”! THIS WAS OUR EXPERIENCE HERE TWICE THIS WEEK ALONE. 🤬

    I ordered patio blocks and bagged rock for a walkway project, along with several bags of mulch on 4/16/26. While ordering the delivery date started the next day, however when I got to the check-out the earliest delivery date was the following week (4/23). Okay, chilly out anyway so I accepted the delivery date. On 4/21 I got an email confirming my delivery date so I cancelled an appt that I had scheduled just to be sure we would be home for the delivery. Well at 6:40am of 4/23 I hot an email that the delivery date was rescheduled to 4/30 and there was no explanation! I called the store to find out what happened. 1st phone call I was transferred to a phone that just rang (I let it ring for at least 2 minutes). Hung up and called back, spoke to someone who put me on hold so she could find out what happened... after 28 mins on hold my call was disconnected!!!! Called back, now I am mad... was told the delivery was rescheduled... yeah, that is why I am calling! Apparently the delivery team was short staffed. Okay, why can't it be delivered the next day, why the following week... no answer. Needless to say I cancelled the order. I went on line with home depot, ordered the same items and guess what, it was delivered today! I will never order from Lowe's on line again. Home Depot was a little more money because the mulch wasn't on sale any longer but it was worth the added expense to get the items I needed to complete our project.

    I love shopping at Lowe's and personally preferred Lowe's over other stores. Unfortunately I can't say the same for my visit to this location. I saw a sign with a deal on trees/ fruit trees. I selected a cherry tree from the deal when I went to the cashier he needed an override because the tag had the original price, he then called this lady named Jennifer who didn't believe the tree was on sale so she went to check the sign to verify she was very disrespectful and unprofessional laughing and telling her colleague loudly that she will not give an override. She reached and saw the sign with the deal and refused to believe the sign. Then she called her Assistant Manager Klein who went and looked at the same sigh and refused to believe the sign also telling me she cannot do it. Mind you The Home Depot has the same deal currently only they were out of cherry trees but they had the same other fruit trees these ladies are making a big fuss about. I'm very disappointed with these young ladies behavior and left without buying my cherry tree.
