Due to the timing of a project and logistics, I was forced to purchase from Lowes instead of HD. Lowes sells the same product (crack resistant concrete) but a different brand (quikrete vs sakrete) for an insane $1.50 more per bag. So out of the gate Lowes cost me $200 more, screw up tax for timing on my part.
Had to return 24 bags of my 2 pallet order. I ordered online and setup the return on the app. It generated a barcode with the instructions to show it to at the return desk. Because it’s a large, heavy return I called the prodesk ahead of time to ask where to bring the items.
I spoke with Kathy? (manager) who instructed me to pull up at lumber to leave the items and that I’d have to still go to service with the receipt (don’t have one because it was purchased online), I assumed my barcode would suffice.
I loaded all the bags on a cart just outside the entrance to lumber and took a photo of it. Walked to the complete opposite end of the store to go to returns. Jenni was having a bad day and was argumentative and pissed that I didn’t have the concrete with me. I let her know what I was told by the manager at the prodesk and she began to mumble about how many times this happens. Jenni needed to know how many bags there were and what the item number is.
I had a photo showing exactly how many bags there were and that they were right in front of lumber and that the it had just been taken in addition to the barcode the app generated for the retries with all of that information. No matter.
She insinuated I was lying about what I was returning - despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary. I get she has to have it confirmed by someone but it was taken too far. She wouldn’t even begin the process of taking down the information until one of the 20 people standing around doing nothing answered the call over the walkie-talkie .
Kathy and her team (5 people standing around prodesk chatting it up socializing) were too lazy to walk the 20-30ft out the doors from their gossip circle to confirm the return. I had to walk all the way back across the entire store to wheel the cart inside, then back across the entire store again to go back to Jenni at returns to finalize the process 25min after 1st walking in.
Kathy and her team were rude, unhelpful and at moments offensive/disrespectful. Lowes has the wrong people in front facing customer service positions. Bottom line everything else aside - at no point in the process was any Lowes employee nice/friendly/helpful. At best they were indifferent.

I did not have any idea what to buy or where to look, and Peter was extremely helpful, professional, and kind. He helped me figure it out what exactly I needed and what tools to use. He even walked to my car, helping me with A big acrylic sheet. He deserves a raise

I would give it zero stars if I could! I recently went in there to pick up an order. I have never picked up an order before. I couldn’t find the pickup location so I asked an older women who worked at the self checkout. She pointed at the sign and rudely said you don’t see the big sign? I had no idea how to use the lockers to receive my order I went to the help desk where another older lady proceeded to be rude to me because I had no idea how to use the tablets to get into the lockers. She was no help at all. A nicer gentleman eventually helped me. Very rude very unhelpful people work there. I will never give my money to lows again after that experience. I had my 1 year old daughter with me by myself you would think i would have gotten a little more help in there. Absolutely disgusted with how I was treated in there.

Every time I go to get large bags Of salt for my water softener they never have anybody that can help Me put them in a cart or put them in my car. Very poor customer service they don’t seem to go out of their way to help anybody. The cashiers seemed to think that it was too much for them to try to contact somebody for help. Which is why they lost my sale. And then today, I was told there’s absolutely nobody in the store that could help me do that.
