  Hello we purchased a whirlpool fridge and also paid extra for an ice maker. The sales person who sold us said there will someone come to install the ice maker. In reality there is not. My husband is trying to install the ice maker by himself and found one part missing from the package so we had to buy that part. Now he is struggling with the instructions and all the parts. In addition we saw in the instructions there is a disclaimer saying the ice maker should be installed by a specialist and the manufacturer won’t be responsible for the ice maker installed by the customer. We felt we were lied to and now we are stuck. This is very frustrating.

  I needed a new freezer chest ASAP. Long story short,Michelle(in appliances) and her Manager Chuck went above & beyond for me . Not only did they listen and take the time to understand my circumstances & need,but they found the item I needed,helped me cash out right in the appliance dept. & then assisted me to my car & loaded my new freezer. As a person in chronic pain and loaded with anxiety over the loss of several food items, Michelle & Chuck were not only helpful,but they were patient,answered all of my questions,and eased my stress level. Both of them made a difficult day & situation much better. Thank you for all of your help. Lowes should be proud to have you both as staff members.

  I am updating this review - Lowe’s did replace the washer (likely based on this review). They did not contact me at all - but I received an email that looked like I purchased another washer (which they delivered a few days later to replace the broken one). Thank you. If you do decide to buy something major from Lowe's, be sure to call about any problems within 48 hours. After that, you are on your own to get it fixed. I bought a washer and dryer on June 20th. They were delivered in the afternoon on June 24th. By June 26th we found water in the drain pan under the washer, and I called Lowe's when I got home from work. They said to call the delivery folks. They were closed for the day by then so I called the next morning, and they told me we were beyond 48 hours and they couldn't help (unless I bought it on a Lowe's card - then I'd have 30 days protection). I called Lowe's and they said they'd handle it. A day later (June 28th) I went into the store to check up on this. A helpful associate said he'd fix it, then proceeded to call the delivery folks and gave them a story about how I had called and called them before the 48 hour time limit and they just wouldn't answer. Then he handed the phone to me to talk to them. This put me in a horribly awkward situation. I tried to carefully navigate it without directly calling him out as a liar but also saying that I couldn't get in touch with them because they were closed and had to call the next day. So they again iterated that they aren't responsible. The Lowe's sales associate brought in a manger, who seemed very helpful and set up a service visit for the next day. The service visit happened (June 29th) where I guess they verified that it was installed correctly and none of the connections were leaking. The service folks did not speak English so all communication was through an app on their phone (limiting the conversation). They said Lowe's would be in touch to deliver a new washer. That was Monday. I waited until Friday (July 3rd) to call because I hadn't heard anything. I battled the AI assistant to be connected to someone in Appliances, but no one answered. I called some 800 number for Lowe's. After getting through another AI phone tree I eventually got someone who gathered some info then put me on hold "for a max of 2 minutes" (which turned out to be 10, then another 15). Eventually he told me that there's nothing Lowe's can do, I can to contact GE for a warranty repair (and he gave me the wrong number for that). All the people from Lowe's I spoke to were friendly. They seem to value being "nice" and appearing helpful over actually being honest and helpful. When I bought the appliance they should have provided something that clearly says that Lowe's of Halfmoon is only responsible for making sure the item works for 48 hours from delivery. Instead, they sold me a 5 year extended warranty with the promise that they'd handle everything for 5 years. They don't. You get 48 hours. Then you have to battle it out on your own with the manufacturer (even if Lowe's delivered a broken item). After the manufacturer's warranted, then the extended warranty kicks in. I don't trust that Lowe's would actually help or be honest (given this experience), so I canceled my extended warranty. I'd rather buy another washer after a year than deal with Lowe's again.
