It’s been well over 35 years since I needed a storage unit. Then life happened—downsizing, losing my mother, and taking on the responsibility of caring for my father as he approaches 90. Suddenly, I had a lot of STUFF that needed somewhere to go.
I had two facilities closer to me, but I decided to drive another five minutes and check out Extra Space Storage in Glen Head. Best decision I could have made.
From the moment I walked in, I met Jeff, the Sales Manager, and immediately knew I was dealing with someone different. Calm, relaxed, patient, compassionate, and genuinely caring. Jeff seemed to be somewhere in his late 60s or early 70s, I’m in my 60s, and my father is approaching 90. Somehow, he felt like the perfect person in between—someone who understood exactly where I was coming from.
He explained everything, showed us different units, walked us through the facility, and answered every question without ever making us feel pressured. I told him I’d be back after my father’s home was sold.
And I came back.
The facility itself is fantastic—clean, temperature-controlled, secure, easy app-based access, and spotless from the parking lot to the bathrooms, hallways, elevators, and units.
But honestly, Jeff is the reason I chose this place.
He gave me confidence that my “STUFF” was in the right place while I figured out what came next.
Thank you, Jeff, for your patience, kindness, and genuine professionalism—and most of all, thank you for crossing paths with me at a time when I really needed someone like you.
Great facility. Even better people. Jeff is a gem.
