It's been 2 months and their elevator still isn't fixed. People aren't allowed to use the stairs, meaning that for 2 months - we haven't had access to our storage facility. Unless you pay for a ground floor unit - you cant access your unit! crazy!

Please. Go anywhere but here. I’ve been a tenant for 6 months and it’s all I could take. I just scheduled my move out. The loading dock doors I was promised we could use to load in and out so we weren’t parked on a city street, lies. Tenants aren’t allowed to use the loading dock doors, but the manager/employees park there. Also, one of those doors has been broken since I moved in in January.
Elevator broken since May 2026. I have a third floor unit with items in it too large to fit down the stairs. The entire third floor smells like sewage coming from the unused bathrooms that are locked. All of my belongings now smell like Sewage.
Manager is completely ineffective. No follow through. Pointless to call corporate office because they just kick it back to the manager.
The employee today when asking what I can do to get some help for not being able to access my belongings on the third floor for a month reminded me there an arbitration clause in my lease, so I can’t sue them. Very helpful. Must have been trained by the manager.

The 290 Ellicott Extra Space storage in Buffalo, NY is poorly managed and run. I have been a customer for almost 3 years. The Elevator broke down recently (May 2026) and is expected to be out for 2 weeks! I was never emailed of this issue. I run a business and require access. The stairs are locked to prevent access to the upper floors and the Manger should have been proactive and had a person there today to unlocked the stairs doors to allow Customer access. The elevator is very old and the only access for heavy items so it is a priority for success/repair. I have heavy items to move and was locked out today after paying for 24/7 access. With the Elevators broken I can not even access my locker which I pay over $200/month. They state 24/7 access in their marketing but manage failure to provide due to this broken elevator unfortunately is the only access to paying customers. An email or text notification should have been sent as they have all this customer information after 3 years of use in that location.
I have been a customer for 3 years and this store has really gone downhill.
Management appears new and there is always broken glass bottles near the side door access key pad. Renters have to persistently walk over broken glass. (See photos as proof). This is unsafe for Customers and has persisted for years too. A customer could be hurt due to this unsafe issue.
One day last week the manager refused to open the garage door which could have saved time in moving my heavy items. I had to use the longer side entrance.
They used to have 3 working movable carts but now only 1 is working. 1 is now missing and 1 has broken wheels that they have not repaired it even though it is still on location in building.
I tried to access my locker today but was locked out at 10:15 on Sunday. I called the manager but he never returned my calls.
The front door bell has been broken for a while with no repair.
I will provide photos as evidence to being poorly managed.
There are many new other storage areas in Buffalo to use that appear much better run and more modern. This is an old Storage building with poor maintenance and Management.
